Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Two weeks since cancelling and still not been offered an acceptable deal. Started at 40% on phone, immediately up to 50% via interactive and same offered again when they called to see if I'd change my mind. Keep telling them I'll only stay if they match my current deal (60% off full package) but they won't budge. Wondering if they've cut back on the more generous offers, I guess I'll find out in next couple of weeks.0

Has anyone ever tried to add a channel into their already discounted package?
We currently have Box Sets at 67% off, so about £12.50 instead of £38, on a rolling 31 day contract. I called to ask if I could add Sky Sports Premier League into that deal, they said no you'd have to pay full price for it. Seems a bit strange that I'm actually offering to pay them more money each month than I currently do, and yet they refuse that. Surely no customers with a big discount on their package are then going to be willing to add other channels at full price, so surely Sky are losing money by taking that stance for those customers.
(By the way, I'm not suggesting for one minute that I have any right to such a discount on that channel - I'm just surprised they would rather say no and lose the business for a customer who they know is surely never going to buy it at full price...)
I've done this lots of times and had the discount applied to the sports. I'd take it for a month at a time depending when DH's team were playing, if they were only on once in a month he'd go to the pub to watch the game as it worked out cheaper than paying the month even with the 60% discount I was getting.0 -
Sky chat results - £84.99 start point down to £77.99, then £64.99......(Target is £39.99 for what I have now)
Now £62.99, and they are saying the comparable deal i used (virgin for 51) is 12 months but over 18 months it would cost more - despite me telling her its a 12 month contract with virgin, and i would negotiate with them like i am with sky...
Final offer £62.99 a month, which included a price RISE for the 17mb BB, £5/month instead of 'free', so i am currently on the cancellation route 7th September. Let's see what we get offered over the next couple of weeks...0 -
Cancelled TV a week ago. The 50% reduction offer appeared immediately online. Today I logged on and the discount has gone down to 40%.
Is this a new psychological tactic from Sky? Never known it before0 -
Same here went from50% down to 40%0

I had the same issue the other month,it will go to 30%, I called them and the would not reinstate the 50% so I had to go through with the disconnection tactics before I got what I wanted0

Here too, I gave two months notice and have got a month left, gone from 50% to 40%, I am only prepared to accept a deal for 60% with no contract as my box is about to die, if I don't get this offer I won't stay with them for TV, we really don't use it that much, I still have BB with them for a year which I took up a month ago, I got that free with just paying line rental and I'm happy with that.0 -
As mentioned previously, I recently received a letter saying that my existing deals were extended for a year and I'm now on a 31 day contract. If I give notice to cancel, then retract it 2 days before being cut off, will I automatically keep those deals if I want to, or are Sky likely to say the deals no longer apply?0

I suspect you'd keep it but only Sky could confirm.0 -

Well just tried live chat and was put through to what I think is retentions. Was told that 40% was the current offer. However, the guy had a word with his manager and applied the 50% offer.
I know I could have let the cancellation run through but, have just Joined SKY VIP (SKY app) I've been awarded Sky Go Extra, with no monthly charge and a free film, with a DVD copy.
Not bad, considering.0
