Just to be clear, what do you mean by 'everything'? I assume all your TV-related charges - not line rental or broadband?
Yes, sorry. 50% off TV, phone and broadband is elsewhere. New bill for all sky channels in HD including all sports, cinema and box sets is £40.75.0 -
Hmmm so this is weird...
My contract is due to expire in 35 days. My existing offers were pretty good, 67% off my whole TV package and £10 off BB/LR (that part wasn't quite so good admittedly), both for the full 12 months. I was expecting to call them in a few days to start the usual negotiations as I do every year, but out of the blue today I got a letter saying that all of my offers have been automatically extended for 12 months, and I'm now no longer on any contract!
Is there any catch? Why would they do this themselves without me having to 'fight' for it like usual?0 -
I was wondering if anyone can help with a new Sky confusion
So I cancelled existing deal and moved on to a new Sky Q package to replace the current boxes. I got 40% off on 18 months as they wouldn't budge on contract length and started a new contract 27/7. But firstly my next bill for 26/8 is showing as the same price I am on now, not the discounted one. My previous bill has been paid on 26/7 and I thought that covered a month in advance?
Also as soon as I went on to the new deal they switched off existing Sky multiscreen. The install date is for 3/8 and the advisor said 'its perfectly normal' to go without paid channels on the second box until the installer sets up the Sky Q. Surely this is wrong? I just wanted services to carry on as normal until the changeover, and this is what the advisor said originally. I've never heard of services switching off until a new box is delivered?0 -

Been known for a little while now.
Also I was hoping to negotiate to add Sky Sports Premier League with the same 67% discount as the rest of my TV package - I wonder whether or not that will be possible now... Will call next week and ask after seeing what others have experienced with this new auto-extension letter...0 -
Hmm it does have a couple of mentions of the same thing in that thread, but not most of the thread, and no one really discusses whether people should haggle further beyond the 'offer auto-extend with no contract' letter. The thing I am missing here is the credit that is usually applied to your account when recontracting - if I'm happy with the offers, maybe I'd rather have the £25-100 credit and take the 12m contract than just have no new contract and no credit...

There have been quite a few who have been offered similar 'no haggle' contract extensions but I think they're scattered around the forum.
The 'no credit' thing is probably part of the point of the whole thing from Sky's perspective as they know folk who have previously haggled will be back at the end of the current deal. Some will no doubt accept it and move on (I probably will if I get an extension at the end of the year). You have to decide on an individual basis whether the yearly dance is worth it.0 -
Has anyone ever tried to add a channel into their already discounted package?
We currently have Box Sets at 67% off, so about £12.50 instead of £38, on a rolling 31 day contract. I called to ask if I could add Sky Sports Premier League into that deal, they said no you'd have to pay full price for it. Seems a bit strange that I'm actually offering to pay them more money each month than I currently do, and yet they refuse that. Surely no customers with a big discount on their package are then going to be willing to add other channels at full price, so surely Sky are losing money by taking that stance for those customers.
(By the way, I'm not suggesting for one minute that I have any right to such a discount on that channel - I'm just surprised they would rather say no and lose the business for a customer who they know is surely never going to buy it at full price...)0 -

I'm not 100% as I've never actually done it myself, I've already got the full package. However I'm pretty sure when helping my mum negotiate we were told she could add sports at a later date and the discount would be honoured.0 -
36 days to go, been looking at my offers, and I have 10% off TV and £5 off bb unlimited...roll on Wednesday. Currently on boxsets and cinema(63%ish discount ), bb unlimited and less for £39, so want that same package for the same price at least.
If they can't do it and I jump ship for bb, do I need to tell sky or just join with the new provider and let them sort sky out?0 -

Let your new provider do it, otherwise you risk your line being dropped and having to pay to get it reinstated0
