Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Like many people on this forum I've checked what the Sky price increase means for me.
I was on £58.83 per month for Sky Signature, Premium Netflix, HD, UHD, Sky Sports HD and Multiscreen.
But due to discounts ending and desire to save money I decided to cancel my multiscreen and UHD. This only saved me £2.50 for multiscreen and £0.33 for UHD, but if I hadn't cancelled multiscreen was going to cost me an extra £10 per month.
So I currently pay £56 per month for Signature, HD, Sky Sports HD and Premium Netflix.
However- from April I find out this bill is going to increase from £56 by £7.50 to a total of £63.50 !!
6.2% ......nowhere near. The average % seems to always be an increase on full price (not discounted) so the better deal you are on, the higher % increase.
£2.50 increase was Netflix Premium, £4 Signature and £1 Sky Sports increase.
So I decided time to cancel Netflix through Sky. However nice Netflix Premium is I thought it is better I get Netflix Standard direct from Netflix for £10.99 where I have easy flexibility to change from month to month.
Another step closer to exiting Sky subscription.
I was happy paying £50-55 for Sky when it includes Sport and Netflix, but now they have just gone too far.
Only a few weeks ago I thought I'd be playing the game for a deal in the summer but now I'm pretty sure I'll be happily leaving Sky for good.
When contract finishes in August I'll be happy to cancel and organise my subscriptions direct with Netflix, Disney and Now TV depending on what I want to watch.
Even if I turn on Sky Sports for a few months to watch F1 I'm still going to save plenty compared to Sky Q and no need to commit to long 2 year contracts.
Looking at other comments on this forum I convinced Sky wants to remove/reduce discounts and it's clear most people on this forum are affected as we don't accept full price as being good value for money.

My April increases are:
Sky Sig £16 to £19.50
Sports £22 to £23
HD £2 to no change
Multiroom £15 to no changeDon't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
My sub is going up a £5 to £55.50pm ,so ~ 10% because of my current discounts.
Looking at the new "full" prices ,seems way over the top to pay £49.50pm for Signature/HD alone - guess I'll be leaving in December when the discounts end unless they come up with a decent deal - seems highly unlikely !!0 -
What has changed within Sky ?They used to be open to negotiation - I have been a customer since 2001 - now they set their price and stick to it - when asked for a discount / options - I am told none available - except for leaving....I am expected to pay close to £90 per month for a service that, 10 years ago cost me less than £40.When will they stop being greedy ?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -

The mood has ranged from sullen to argumentative.
You’d have thought in a changing landscape of how people watch TV, Sky would do more to maintain the customer base they have.
With regards price, people that don’t watch sport are ultimately always going to be contributing to the huge outlay Sky pays for football rights.
That in itself frustrates me, the fact you have to have multiple subs, to different providers, should you wish to watch every competition available.0 -
I called Sky in January to negotiate a better price. I'd been paying £65 going up to £88.50 out of contract. I was told the best they could do was £64, I asked for the new customer price of £59, but was told that wasn't possible. So told them I was leaving, expecting a phone call to persuade me back. But they didn't call, so yesterday I was disconnected. Today I called and was offered reconnection on the same Sky Q package as before for £39 a month for a 24 mth contract.0

It’s just convenient to access the football via Sky with TNT added on.0 -

Has anyone had any joy being able to leave mid-contract due to the rises? In their terms they say not more than a 10% increase, however mind is over 10% increase, does that mean I can break the contract? (also for anyone who has tried, is it 10% per package, or 10% of your overall subscription cost?)0

What are the before and after prices?0
