    Glad i found this thread.

Coming to the end of my contract soon - 3rd July
    Sky Signature £11
    Sky Sports £16
    Sky Sports HD £2
    Sky HD £6
    Multiscreen £15
    Ultra HD £4
    TOTAL £54 a month.

In July the bill is showing as -
    Sky Signature £18
    Sky Sports £32
    Sky Sports HD £2
    Sky HD £9
    Multiscreen £15
    Ultra HD £4
    TOTAL £80 a month.

When would be the best time to threaten to cancel?
I would ideally like to keep the same package and pay no more than i am now.

Looking at all the adverts for Sky stream, and Sky glass i was thinking they maybe gradually reducing the Sky Q take-up and trying to shift people on to the streaming options, hence reducing Sky Q retention offers. But we like Sky Q and the ability to record programs and not bothering with adverts, etc.... it´s just so simple to use.

    Thanks

First of you need to cancel refuse all offers on call, then the game begins who blinks first, they should call you with a better offer or for best deal let the tv cancel down then after 1 week contact Winback to get the best offer

Ok so my 31 day notice expired yesterday and lost all sky content today , my package was everything bar kids/fibre/bt sports , was previously paying £56 a month , and had received various stupid offers to stay.
I popped onto live chat today and was offered £65 per month and £20 admin charge which I declined, I then gave them a call , and was offered £60 per month and £10 admin , I said drop the admin and I,ll take it (he did), fast forward a flurry of emails from Sky which I didn't really take notice of , then I looked at my future bills on the sky site , and was pleasantly surprised to see I,m going to be paying £54 per month as confirmed by the email below.

    I got the following offer;

    Sky Signature at £21 a month (that's a £13 discount with an 18-month contract)

    HD at £5 (that's a £4 discount) (Rollingcontract)

    UHD at £2 (that's a £2 discount) (Rolling contract)

Complete Sky Sports HD at £8 (that's a £26 discount with an 18-month contract) (Dependency offer withCinema)

Cinema at £12 (that's a £7 discount) (rolling contract with sports)

    Sky kids at £2 a month(that's a £4 discount with rolling contract)

This brings your total to £50 normally £104 a month

I then managed to squeeze another £2/month off so £48/month.  Wasn’t unhappy with that offer.

They wouldn't make the £20 admin fee go away though no matter how hard I tried!

Accepted new contract last week with Sky .. Signature, Sports, UHD, multiroom for £48.  Next day Sky ring…‘I can better the deal you accepted yesterday’!

Proceeded to cancel agreed contact, and give me new one for exactly the same as above, but now with first month free ! ..accepted that and now awaiting for phone to ring again! (Must be on commission)

Been with them 23 years…they only move once you have cancelled no matter how long you have been with them, prior to cancelling was going to be £68!
    Seems a lot, what’s breakdown
    Signature £19
    Sports £12
    Sport HD £2
    HD £5
    Multi room £10
    Total £48

£20 Admin fees refunded. £48 first months cost credited to account, (therefore net £45.33 month 18 month contract) and 4 months free ultimate add on.
  • I was on a fairly decent TV and Broadband deal that started at £77 a month but with the usual over the top annual increases went up to £85. TV was pretty much the full package at

    Signature £21
    Ultimate TV - £4
    Sky Kids - £1
    Sky Sports - £4
    Skys Sports HD - £2
    Sky Cinema - £10
    Sky HD - £3
    Mulitscreen - £10
    Ultra  HD - £4

    So TV equalled £59

    Broadband Superfast - £18

    Total package - £77

I thought this was a decent deal and when I tried to re-contract I said if I got the same deal I'd sign up now, otherwise I'd probably cancel - the best they said they could do was £110 and didn't really try to get it down. I ended up cancelling and I'm now without sky for the last 7 days. Today, I've received the boxes to send the equipment back. I'm tempted to give them one more call before I do. What sort of deal can I expect at best. Is £77 to unrealistic?

Without sounding too morbid or disrespectful, I feel like Sky will die with the Boomers and late Millennials.

I'm in my early 30's and even reading the 'bargains' cited above of ~£50 a month has me wincing in disbelief.

For that you could buy Netflix (£7), Disney+ (£8), Amazon Prime Video (£9), ITVX/BritBox (£6), Hulu (£6), HBO Max (£10) and still have the money left over for my avocado on toast.

Sky is notorious for taking advantage of customers (isn't that the whole reason this thread exists) and despite most service providers adopting apps on modern smart TV's for a few years now, Sky has had to be dragged kicking and screaming even to begin moving away from the physical box and satellite dish installations of the past few decades (and even still decided to reinvent their cash grab scheme in Sky Glass).

There's no reason why the Sky Go app couldn't have been pre-installed on TV's years and years ago with all the other service providers, except as a means to justify their incredibly high pricing. It's just more of the same with them.
    Know what you don't

Left Sky about a month ago but keep missing their calls as they ring when I'm in work!  Is there a number to call them back where I'll actually have a chance of a decent deal?

Also, they have sent me a postal offer which includes Sports but I don't want that anymore.  What is the benchmark for the basic channels (no sports or movies) plus HD and multiroom?  Just so I know what I should be aiming for...

But for semi rural people with bb speeds which can sometimes range daily from 15mbps to 28mbps putting all their viewing eggs into the streaming basket is disconcerting, which is why many still want/ need a Sky satellite deal. Also, even if they decide to commit to internet only tv, finding a reliable and trustworthy IPTV supplier is not easy if they can’t get personal recommendations
