How have you all managed to get through on Live Chat? I've been trying now for a few days and it's continually busy....

    Any tips are appreciated!

I think that I used one of the other options (downgrade perhaps) which got me connected straight off after struggling with the cancel option.

Everyone has had different experiences but I've always managed best on live chat myself but then I've never actually let it cancel down fully.
  • Wanted to make a quick post about my 'haggling' with Sky.

Was out of contract and called to see what deal they could offer which was 1/3 off TV and 50% off BB, I said I'd cancel.

In my 30 cancellation period I saw thru the services button I could get 60% off TV, so I messaged them via chat and asked if they would honor the 60% off TV along with the 50% off BB they said yes, so I took the offer.

This is the link I used for the chat

    Hope this helps someone :)

I got through to live chat on Sunday evening using the above link - thanks to those who posted it. I took 60% off TV package incl Sports (not HD) and 50% off unlimited BB and line rental, both for 12 months. I couldn't get any additional credit - that will be next year's goal for my improving haggling skills!
Nothing was mentioned about the price rise so I'll be paying more than expected. I could come out of it (cooling off etc) but there isn't really an alternative elsewhere - would love a way to get cheaper BT Sports. It will be interesting to see how the market looks in 12 months time.
Thanks to you all for posting on here and helping me vow to never pay full price to Sky again! Good luck with your own haggles.

Last year i got 40/10 fibre for £15, free line rental and anytime calls for £8 making a total of £23PM.
I was on 7mb broadband and haggled for the fibre but at the time Sky were doing fibre for £10 but i could only get it fro £15 but got the fre line rental.
My issue is now that the new 1 year line rental/calls contract finishes on 3/02/2017 but my fibre min term finishes on 25/02/2017 due to time it took for the fibre to be switched on.
How should i approach Sky about getting the same deal or nearly the same as the fibre has over 5 weeks to go before min term is over.
I have looked at BT and i could of got what i have for £29.99 without the mobile calls for 12 month contract but that offer expires today and i only want a 12 month contract as maybe moving early next year so dont want to be tied to a 18/24 month contract.

I had a live chat this morning and after the usual to and fro the advisor's best offer was £5 off fibre and that was it. £41 for fibre.rental and anytime extra. That was for a 12 month term but only for 10 months £5 off so after 10 i can see what else is out there was advisor's wording.
Asked about leaving and was given 2 options mentioned in this thread so i left and will decide in a few days.

So you 'can see what's out there' while Sky charge you full whack for the last two months, I hate 10 month offers on 12 month contracts.

Agreed. I would never accept such a contract. I turned down one in December of 50% for 10 months, and finished up with 60% for 12 months.

Ha, that's exactly what I did in December too, got the £50 credit while I was there as well.

For some reason they decided to star it a month later than it should have so I had to get back in touch, I've ended up not paying anything in January and the same in Feb with a couple of quid left over in credit for March. Not quite sure how they worked that out but I wont complain this time :D

Cancelled last month, it was turning off tomorrow so I just went on live chat and got (for us) a good deal as I really didn't want it to turn off. £16 for the variety bundle for 12 months. Given we were paying £28.75 it's a nice saving for us. Not as much as I probably could have got but it works. He wanted to give £16 for 10 months but I told him it would have to be 12 months. So he did. Made it sound like he was doing me a favour though!

One quick question. We have an old (old!) Pace box from 2002! We want a Sky+HD box but don't want to pay Sky for it. One off ebay would work I guess but are there any pitfalls to it? Is Sky+ all it's cracked up to be? Our one still works just fine but the option to record would be a bonus. Can I still plug our old one back in if an HD one isn't for us?
If buying off ebay are there any ones I shouldn't buy or are they all the same?
    Thanks
