there seem to be 2 similar threads. a "Haggling" one and "retention deals".

    Whats the difference?

I've wondered the same too. I think the haggling one applies to broadband too but not sure

As the name implies, this one is for posting your successful retention deals so people know what the limits are at this moment in time.

The haggling thread was set up in 2015 and was to offer advice from the MSE article on how to actually get a good deal.

Didn't had to haggle much, cancelled my old sky entertainment pack £11 per month as i was nearing end of contract. Had to again look for new package due to guests at home. New deal is 12 month contract, £11 for entertainment and £2 for HD so total £13 per month. On a old sky+HD box so great value for money considering actual price is £27+£5

I doubt I stay with Sky after this morning,
    I did a chat on http://sky.com/reviewmyoptions

I informed them my offer on 'mydeals' which I would like to take up if I could have a Sky Q 2TB box as well, I was informed that is a HD+ only offer and I would need to pay £27 a month then £5 for the add-ons and a MANDATORY muti-room fee of £13 ( I explained I didn't want muti-room) and a one off fee of £50 for the box

I said I didn't understand why it would go from £18 a month to £55 a month just for the new box,
I was then offered a 1TB box for £20 but would need to pay £22 a month with £5 a month for the add-ons!

I asked 5-6 times to why I need to pay double just for the new box and was told this is set by Sky Management and its to subsidise the new tech!!
I was repeatedly sent details of the box and how 'great' it was

The only answer I ever got to why I need to pay double to watch The Simpsons on a Sky Q box compared to a Sky HD+ box was its new technology!

Agreed, SKY Q is still in it's infancy in terms of haggling ability, Happy to stay on my Sky +HD box for now, if you really want Netflix, get a premium package

Cancelled Sky and got an offer to come back for £11. (Entertainment only).

Went on Sky chat and haggled. I’m now paying £23pm for entertainment, movies, hd & boxsets.

Would have liked UHD but not worth another £13pm seeing as I only have 1 TV & have no use for multi-boxes.

Just got off the phone to them and this is the best they could offer so far.

    Sky Entertainment + HD + Box Sets = £27
    Fibre Unlimited = £24

Yes it has come down from the £82 I'll be paying from next month for pretty much the same thing but simply not good enough, I'd want another £10 off somewhere to keep me. Looks like I'll be going through with cancelling.

Sports Complete Pack in HD £23 extra a month with new 18-month minimum term, £30pm outside of new minimum term. Sky Cinema £11 extra a month with new 18-month minimum term, £19pm outside of new minimum term. Entertainment HD Pack £5 extra pm. Offer ends 31 March 2019.

Looks like that doesn’t include boxsets and kids though which could be another tenner.
