I read it as they have cancelled anyway, although £17 over £51.50 is a win in anyone's book.
It must of changed as i thought £20 was for an 18 month fixed contract and the £25 pm was for a rolling contract as others have mentioned on here.
Unless the posters has not told us everything as they were paying over £51 pm for Variety and kids for years so £17 looks like a bargain but was being overcharged to start with if it now costs £25 or £20 pm just for Entertainment package.
As the poster is very happy with that price then it's all that matters.0 -
That is not a good deal.
I make that Sky have given you a 15% discount as Entertainment is £20 pm if i think you have a fixed contract and not a rolling contract.
You should of put in to cancel there and then.
really, I didn't know that. Oh well, good job I did cancel the whole contract. I was angling more for £10 a month but obviously that wasn't going to happen. Not to worry, I haven't watched sky in nearly a week now and I certainly don't miss it.0 -

I just read back on the post and they said they called and cancelled and was on the phone 1 hour and the best deal offered was £17pm on 18 month deal which they said was a pretty good deal which i took as they had taken it up.
Sorry i thought they accepted the deal so i am sorry.0 -
£11 is definitely possible for Entertainment on 12-month contract. Then £1 for HD.0

Hi all, after a bit of advice/guidance please.
Currently have original Sky+HD at discounted rate; by £7.40 pm which increases next month. I am not in contract.
Spotted last night that I can get Q install for £20 as long as I also do multiscreen for 18 months on VIP.
I was going to call to renegotiate anyway but this is a bit of a curveball.
The Q offer is tempting but I want to pay the same or less as I am now.
What's Best? Call and renegotiate as planned or call and cancel, follow through with it to see what they come back with?
Thanks in advance!0 -

Call and renegotiate, cancel when they won't give you a decent offer, follow through with it to see what they come back with.
Q multiroom will add £12 a month to your bill regardless of anything else so definitely will not save you money, you're effectively paying £216 spread over the 18 months plus the initial £20.
Edit: so effectively you're paying £236 over the 18 months rather than £199 up front without multiroom (which is the usual price quoted for existing customers). Don't forget that this is a non-refundable rental fee as you have to return the equipment if you ever leave.0 -
I totally echo the above
We took out a new contract once with one of their deals. We called back in a few days later to say we did not want to go ahead and they slashed the price by 50% without even trying0 -
Done the deed. Cancelled after pretty much all day on messenger. Would only give me entertainment, HD and box sets for £10pm then dragged my fibre into it to make it look more appealing by giving me unlimited fibre £15pm, no reduction on line rental.
My fibre offer still has a couple of months to run so we'll see if there's any extra attempt to win me back for the TV. Unfortunately, I'm not in a Virgin area so don't have that to bargain with.
I would have hoped for more after 10 years+ custom but if previous posts on here are anything to go by, hopefully I'll get some contact with a better deal.0 -
