Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

I cancelled my contract today.
The person i spoke to claimed they no longer offer the percentage off deals, instead they offered me an "offer" which imo wasn't all that great.
Asked me what i would do without sky. LOL. I mean, yes, it's convenient, but in this day and age there are many other options (and they don't tie you into an 18 month contract and charge admin fees for their "offers.")
Stressed i won't be offered any further offers e.t.c0 -

I cancelled d last week and just now had a call from them and got the exact same blurb. From 18.50 to 45.00 is a massive jump and was asked what I would do without sky as well lol. I said I'm happy with Netflix. Bye.0 -
Thanks for the advice about broadband and line rental cancellations.
To be honest, the reason I wanted Sky to be aware that I wanted to cancel all three services with them was to increase the pressure on them to offer me a reasonable price.
The impression I got was that because we don't have the movies or sports channels then they have no wiggle room to offer improved discounts on our TV. Both advisors I spoke to completely dismissed the idea of offering any discounts on the phone and internet.
Offering me a £ 16 reduction doesn't seem enough to me and even if I have to switch to Virgin then I think I may be willing to do it. I may pay a little more but will have faster internet, sky cinema, sports and a better box than Sky currently provide me with.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
I've had a letter today around 2 weeks after cancelling for:
Sky Entertainment - £13
Box Sets - £3
Kids - £3
HD - £3
Cinema - £11
And bonus is a 12 month contract, which I presumed they had stopped. Doesn't mention multiroom charge for UHD which I guess will be £12 as usual. I have a Sky Q 2TB box and 1 mini box,
No mention of broadband offers either, but it should work out a little cheaper than my exisiting price of £73.50.
Does anyone get cheaper than this?0 -
Put in cancellation few days ago, went on chat was offered entertainment £11, sports & movies £19, Sky HD £2.50, sports HD pack £3.50 & kids £2.50 total £38.50. This was not good enough as I was only paying £26 a month for full package (75% off). I will keep trying was also offered SkyQ 2tb box & 1 mini free installation but would be £59.50 a month that was without kids channels aswell!0

Cancelled my boxsets package today after being on a 60% discount. Told the same thing about no discounts. I was offered the entertainment package for £25 a month and then when I said I still wanted to cancel they offered it to me for £19. No good as I only pay £15.20 a month now. Has anyone had any success i.e. 50% upwards? Looking at the other posts it seems Sky are being cute about this and are breaking everything down individually.0

They keep peddling the 'no discount' line now and that they have de-valued the product in the past. They seem to be sticking to there guns on this too for the majority. There are discounts but minimal.0 -
£11 entertainment pack, free broadband and £8.99 line rental was my breakdown. For the next 12 months.0

If its Disney that have taken over then that would explain alot. American companies will not give up on anything that affects their valuable profit margins. Thanks everyone for their posts as it makes for interesting reading seeing what the average consumer is up against.0

I just managed £18 for Fibre Unlimited and Line Rental for the next 12 months. Happy with that. Last night they told me £28 only and no discounts any more on line rental.
Spoken to the Indian online center today and they applied the discounts. Originally £20 but pushed further as pay £19.50 currently and Vodafone have the £21 deal.0
