  • I've been 28 months free and without service for a few months all together in that time. Last time they offered 60% then month later 60% with 50 credit and after 2 months canx and it starts again. This time they offered 60% with 18 month contract. Never been asked to be tied in before are sky clamping down on the !!!!!!!!!!s. I'll keep on russian sopcast streams but wondering if I can get my TV back
  • I'm currently paying £45 for Boxsets & Cinema, Broadband and Phone on a 50-60% discount... it is soon to jump back up to £92.99!
I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.

Forger those types of streams or kodi or torrents . In my experience a lot of them are frustrating to use. They'll work some of the time and freeze a lot too. I have found paying a tenner a month for Netflix a godsend. There when you need to watch something with a lot of choice for kids too and much much cheaper than sky.
I can get plenty of dodgy streams and apps should I want to but have found them frustrating to use and in the past three weeks or so having had Netflix I've binged like no other on box sets lol.
Something like Netflix is easy to use for family etc so they are watching whatever they want to watch without waiting three or four minutes for a list of kodi resources and half of them don't work anyway and by that time kids get bored and switch off lol.

In fact if sky don't come close to matching my current 75 percent off deal come renewal time in March I will happily switch sky off until such a time I get whatever deal I'm happy with.

BBC Iplayer is built into my TV for those BBC shoes we watch so sky plus is not so essential. As it used to be

    50% of box sets £2.50/month,HD 2.50/month, and cinema 9/month for 18 months
BB and line rental is a previous offer of £2.50 for BB and £8.99 for line rental which will be getting re-negotiated in 6 months time.

So you should be able to get better than you have now

When you say "signed back up", did you actually properly leave or did you renegotiate that during a cancellation period?

If renegotiated, did you do that via chat or phone?

  • Useful thread given there are many people out there paying more for TV channels than they pay to heat and power their house! So I thought i'd share my recent experience with both mine and a relative whom i was negotiating on behalf of. It's clear sky chop and change deals from time to time so maybe i could have done better, maybe not!

1st Deal - Cancelled my Sky Q with Sports, HD & Boxsets on Nov 30th '17, got offered 30% off initially over chat, then 40% a few weeks into my cancellation period. When the packaging arrived 1 month after cancellation to send the Sky Q box back, I got in contact over chat again and finally accepted 40% off with a 12 month contract and £25 Bill Credit applied. This made the new monthly bill £40.50 per month but with Sky Q + Full Sky Sports, HD.

2nd Deal - Cancelled a Basic Sky + Entertainment Package mid December '17 which was £21 per month. Finally accepted 50% off on 2nd Jan 2018 making new monthly total £10.50 on a 12 month contract also with a £25 bill credit.

It's clear through my experience you have to actually cancel to be offered the best deals.

The key thing to remember is to bookmark in your calendar 1 month before the new renegotiated contract expires to cancel again otherwise Sky WILL NOT inform you when your promotion finishes. Unless you stay on top of it, all your savings could be lost within a few months of reverting back to the standard non-discounted rates.

    Good Luck

Trying to haggle with Sky. I got offered the following:
    18 Month Contract
40% off the Core TV Package
    Complete Sports Pack - £20 a month
Sky Sports HD for £2 a month
    SKY Q Multi-Screen

    £56.80 a month.

Told them i was going. Logged back into my account to see 30% of my current package for 12 months. Which roughly takes it down to the same price Live Chat were offering above.

    I'll hold out for now.

SkyQ 2TB and 2 Mini Boxes here

    definitely a rip off.

The more people that cancel the better deals that we're all likely to get ...

What is Sky Q multi screen by the way? I thought Sky Q was multi screen by default?

No, it's an optional £12 a month extra although I think you need it if you want UltraHD content (and yes, that makes no sense).

i keep trying to justify sky Q but I dont think its worth the extra, plus once they fit the different cables in for Sky Q theres no way you can go back to the old Sky+ HD , unless someone can correct me?

Im coming up for renewal soon, and i dont think they will match my £18.50 for movies + sports + the rest, no contract :) Im too addicted to Netflix now and unless they match it, or thereabouts, its goodbye Sky. The only thing I'd miss is GoT, but can get that alternative ways :)
