Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

I had a look at "My Sky" to check any winback offer, following the changes.
Until last week, the offer was 40% on a 12 month contract (no offer on sports HD).
Under the new structure, the percentage discounts were not displayed.
However, "Entertainment" was £13 per month- a discount of 35% on the 18 month minimum term price of £20.
Sky Cinema & Sky Sports were 40% discounts.
The "TV Packs"- Box Sets (on-demand), Sky Kids and HD were £3 each (40% discount on standard price of £5).
HD Sports Pack was £4 (33% discount on standard price of £6); and one point I noticed was that it could be added to the cart without buying the "HD" TV Pack. Thus, you can apparently choose to have non-sports channels in SD, whilst taking Sky Sports in HD.
"Entertainment" is a minimum term of 18 months. All the add-on packs are "31 day rolling contract" (31 days' notice). The "legal bit" notes that if you cancel any of these packs, however, and then wish to rejoin them, the standard price applies.0 -

Could you see any reference to their '£10 admin fee'? I had a look but couldn't see anything myself.0 -
No- I read the "legal bit" and there was no reference; but then, my previous offers on "My Sky" and mailed offers didn't either.Colin_Maybe wrote: »Could you see any reference to their '£10 admin fee'? I had a look but couldn't see anything myself.
The £10 "admin fee" (which I wouldn't accept) seems to me, to be an effort by Sky to make a "small gain"- often when people are negotiating offers by telephone or webchat.0 -
How can I get the best price for 'Sky Entertainment package', as £20 pm is too expensive?
Any advice?
Thanks0 -
It's already discounted, by the stated £5 and by the fact that it is now almost the old Variety (£32) without the children's parts, that adults without youngsters would probably not want anyway.( £20 is 37.5% off £32).tazwhoever wrote: »How can I get the best price for 'Sky Entertainment package', as £20 pm is too expensive?

I remember few months ago in local market, they were offering 50% off original package. This was £10 pm.
That's why I asked. £20 is to pricey. I'm sure retentions would offer better prices, but I am new to joining sky.0 -

You'd have to call and ask, you're not a current customer?0 -

BTW, £20 a month and £20 upfront isn't a bad deal for the 1TB Q system.0 -

It's pricey compared to income I have.0 -

Then I'd say stick to Freeview, if £20 a month is pricey now you don't want to be tying yourself into an 18 month contract when all prices are rising and will for the next couple of years at least.
Edit: I've just seen that you're paying £41 a month to Virgin for BB, you need to decide which is most important to you, fast internet or a full TV package.
2nd Edit (lol): actually I think you get TV from Virgin too?0
