  • Where do you find new customer deals like this?

That's what they offered me on the phone, no haggling required tbh.
  • I have Sky variety tv / line rental / normal broadband.
Been with Sky 7 years now, all my offers have ended, now shot up to £60.99.
Ive always managed to negotiate good deals paying in the £30's but theyre just not playing ball this time it's very frustrating.

For most of the year I was paying £33.19 (this was 35% off TV / £5 off Net / 50% off line rental)

Now over the phone they just offering 30% off TV and £5 off net...so think was £46.
Online people offering 40% off TV and £5 off net so £43.
Still not as cheap as I would want grr....and 18 month contracts!!
And seems the call centre actually make note of what previous people offered so they not offering different things.

I dont know if go with the online char retention team offer or keep trying or just if Sky being rubbish now offering good deals for existing customers renewing !???

I'm amazed at the number of people taking just 30% off (eg the person willing to pay £22.40 for Variety instead of £22.50 for Original; the £22.40 is an improvement on full price but is only 30% off.)

I have turned down 50% and go off this Saturday midnight. The only prices which will have me return will be 60% off with £100 credit or 75% off. I'm quite determined to stay away, if necessary (probably will as no one has been given £100 with 60% off or 75% with no credit.)
  • SRH, what channels do you watch? Unless you want the Sky channels consider changing the TV package to TV+, this will cost £10 a month.
So your bill for line rental, unlimitedBB, pay as you talk and TV+ should be under £30 a month. You could pay a one off £15 and switch to Sky fibre unlimited and still be under £30 a month but you may need a different router which will cost more.

For £10 a month you may as well buy a Humax recordable box, especially if you don't think you'll ever go back to Sky.
  • Left Sky in September after being offered renewal at 40% off (was 60%) and replaced with special deal on BTTV max and a Now TV entertainment and Cinema pass £50 for 6 months. More than halved my cost and now got BT Sport in glorious 4k and all the Sky Channels and Movies I need. If I want to see a particular football match on Sky I just buy a day pass. Have I missed not having Sky contract ? NO, NO, NO. Was in effect paying over £40 a month to watch Sky Sports as 90% of normal viewing was non Sky. Wish I had dumped Sky years ago. Within a couple of weeks of leaving was offered 60% off (too late as already purchased BTTV and Now TV packages) and having turned that down I am now getting offers of going back for 40% off!! Does their marketing dept. really think that someone will turn down 60% off but accept 40% off? Hmm

  • Got letter through like last year 60% off all bundles go to sky.com/offer60 worth a go for those wanting to take up the offer. For me it was too late. Managed to get 5 sky sports 1 month passes for 19.99 each only had sky for the sports , so sticking to nowtv.

i think sometimes the onus is on you to mention what deal you want :) They have the retentions team who you get through to when you want to cancel - they will generally offer you the rubbish 30% off deals and usually no more. If you cancel after that your details go off to another team whilst in your 30-day notice period. If they still can't retain you as a customer then its the 'last resort, must keep as a customer at all costs' team, who have offered the best deals to me in the past. If you dont get offered what you want, mention it to them and say you want xxx % off as a minimum and see what happens :)

The 'retain at all costs' team are generally flexible with that approach.

I suspect that the "retain at all costs" option has been shelved currently for "standard" HD customers. The new high value customers are SKY Q subscribers - and Sky presumably haven't got enough info. yet on churn at the end of the initial Q deals.

Wonder what they are going to do with all the 2nd hand Sky Q equipment if there is an appreciable churn rate?:rotfl:

Haven't seen anyone talking about the return of Sky Q kit altho' a few have appeared on ebay!!!
