Put the cancellation call in today. For £116:eek: we currently have
Full House
Sky Sports HD
Cinema HD (could live without)
Talk Anytime (would settle for Evening / Weekends)
TIVO
Extra V+ HD box (could live with one box)
BB 100MB (but speeds only about 40 usually)
I would really love to keep the sports and my kids like the TV channels (soft parent I know!) but I'm not prepared to pay more than £70 - £80 (was paying 82ish until discount ran out 3 months ago).
Does anyone have a similar package and what sort of offer should I expect IF they phone me back?
Thanks.Skint: (adjective) The tendency to turn off the grill when turning the bacon.
Think skint - it makes things simpler0 -

I am currently paying £64 per month for the same package as yours inc. line rental but without the sky sports but with the v6 box and extra v+ box. and 200 mb bb. I hope this helps but I might add that my contract is ending soon and I'll be in the same negotiating boat as you!0 -

Been a customer with Virgin (and their predecessors since the year dot, well over 20 years now) and have never bothered to change (stupid, I know but life, children, blah, blah, blah) as I was happy with the service.
Until the last price rise. Over Christmas had a look at what else was available and decided to go with BT as they were offering cashback, plus going through Quidco added a nice chunk of cash as well. So I signed up.
Rang Virgin to cancel contract the folowing day, they offered to reduce my monthly bill by £10. Told them I wanted to cancel. After a 16 minute phone call, with them giving me reasons to stay, and my response being "Please cancel the contract", they asked if I would speak to their outbound retention team. I agreed and was told that they would ring me.
They didn't ring me. I rang again to cancel, really annoyed as I'd made sure that I'd be available. They were very apologetic and said that the other team would ring. And they did, just a few minutes later.
We agreed on the following:
Full house TV (that's an upgrade)
VIVID 200 (that's another upgrade)
Talk More Anytime (and that's another upgrade) - includes calls to mobiles.
12 month contract.
For the huge sum of £29 pcm. That's a 60% drop in price. For better services. I was gobsmacked. I still am, actually.0 -

My package below was due to go up to c£81 but have agreed to stay having handed in my cancellation and then got the call from outbound bringing it down to £53 per month:
Basic phone (weekends) incl line rental
100MB broadband
Full House TV
Sky sports
BT sport0 -
First post, hope I've got this right!
Was on Full House Package at £35 per month, 12 month contract now coming to an end, facing a monthly increase to around £80 to retain package.
Called VM 20th January and gave 30 days notice to cancel contract. Was offered reduced package for a little more than we pay now, but declined and advised VM to go ahead with cancellation.
Called VM Saturday 3rd Feb regarding a query about billing, an attempt was made to retain us, offering the same Full House package for £60 per month, or £50 per month if we reduced the broadband speed from 200mb to 100mb, again we declined and asked for cancellation the continue .
Recieved a phone call today (05/02/18) from retentions team, offered us our current Full House package (including 200mb broadband) for £40, we accepted and are happy with this deal.

Great deal! Good job.
Question for the group - around the same time that I'll be negotiating a package with Virgin Media I will also be looking to get a SIM Only mobile deal, do the cable teams also attempt to get you to sign up to mobile? Could do two birds with one stone. It's looking likely that I'll be going with Virgin Mobile regardless.0
