Was that via a call from outbound retentions? And was it a case they called you about a month ago in first couple days since you gave your 30 day notice but you turned it down and now just before cut off date they have called you again unprompted?latecomer said:Agreed a new deal as was due to be cut off tomorrow
350Mbps BB (volt boost from 250)
Mega TV
Sky sports
Sky cinema
weekend calls
£48
Could have 500Mbps for additional £6 but can be added at any point so thought I'd leave it at 350Mbps for now
Tried to get it cheaper or with netflix but they weren't for budging on it. Cant complain really1 -
I did speak to them at the start and then missed a couple of calls and everything went quiet. Received a text message last week saying they'd been trying to get in touch regarding the pending disconnection and saying there was an offer for broadband for £19 or bill credits available. Phoned the number and just said I was interested in a package but had to be the right price. again missed a couple of calls back but then called yesterday as our cut-off day was today so needed to get something agreed. Happy enough with the deal.tg99 said:

Useful, thanks. Did they give you a price to add tnt sports at all? I have that instead of sky cinema.latecomer said:

Just recieved an email saying my contract is coming to an end in September and the discounted price I am currently recieving will also end.
Currently paying £97 and its going up to £158
Needless to say I have gave them my intention to cancel!
Package I have currently is
M500 Broadband
Maxit TV
SkySports & Cinema
TNT Sports
Weekend Chatter
1 extra box.
Any ideas what I should be looking to pay for the above? Ideally wouldn't really want to change anything from my package0 -

I hope to recontract either with Virgin or someone else for broadband only and targeting approx £25 per month.250MB Bb, telephone line with free weekend calls for £25 would be a reasonable target to aim for.I'm on 125Mb with telephone & weekend chatter for (originally) £23, and then got hit £2.02 price rise in April that was baked in to the contract.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Put cancellatIon in and when they come back a few days later with a price ask how much extra for Netflix aswell, this opens up the top package, which it seems they can discount heavily. I reckon you could get that for around £60-65. Make sure you go through with cancellation though and wait till retentions call you back. Make sure your marketing preference settings in your account are set so they can call youAndy017 said:Just recieved an email saying my contract is coming to an end in September and the discounted price I am currently recieving will also end.

TNT is now standalone monthly sub and it seems to be £18 with no discounts offered. Guess you just say its required as part of the package and see what they will do. You might be able to get a little overall package discount for having it included but unless its a fixed part of the package I would guess its unlikely as otherwise you can cancel at any pointtg99 said:

Had my first phone call back today, women was very kind but could only offer me my existing package at the price i'm currently paying ( £97 ) which I still think its very steep compared to what some others have managed to get on here..
So I kindly declined her offer and its now a waiting game to see if they'll phone again.

I cancelled my whole Virgin Media package (broadband, TV and landline) on Friday, but haven't had a call off retentions yet. Previously they have done it within a day or two. Is this normal?0

sometimes takes a few days, I've always had a call at some point and I've been doing this for 15+ years
Might be worth checking your account marketing preferences to make sure all communications are allowed0
