Virgin Media retention deals (post your haggling successes)

I have 3 boxes (2x mini and 1x 360) Was with the ultimate volt bundle and paid £5 = £65 for 1 gig BB, Sky sports HD, TNT/BT sports, Netflix premium, unlimited LL and sky cinema.
On black Friday spoke on webchat and was offered the same deal minus TNT for £70. I declined
Put disconnection notice in and kept missing the retentions team. They actually left a message when you called back which gave an inbound number. Spoke to a lovely Scottish lady. She couldn't add TNT for the £70, but in a nutshell it was everything that I had with ultimate volt minus TNT. 18 month contract. There will be a price rise in April, my old contract didnt have this. Very happy with VM service (switched after being ripped off by Sky for many years)

Hello, I just wanted to say thanks to the contributors who provided the information I have used today. I am embarrased to say I was paying £111 per month for mix volt tv with tnt sport added but no sky sport or cinema or netflix, weekend calls and 350 (boost to 500 I think) broadband. I was then paying £36 to now tv for sky sports plus boost.
I appreciate I only have myself to blame but I have had a busy year and the more out of control my admin gets, the less strength I have to sort it out!
Today I have renewed via website and chat agent:
"MEGA BUNDLE. This includes:
-Mega TV 3 with over 220+ 📺 channels including Eurosports in HD, Nat Geo in HD and Sky Sports News in HD
Sky Sports Collection
Sky Movies Collection
Sky Sports in HD
TNT Sports
Netflix Standard
• Broadband
-Our ultrafast M500 with an average speeds of 544Mbps. 🚀
•Anytime Chatter
All for only £70.00 on a new 18-month contract. That’s £41.00 savings from your current price. "
I understand this is probably not the best I could have got in comparison to the experienced members on this forum, but I thought if I at least post it as my contribution it will be an up to date bench mark for people to try and get cheaper! also just to make the instant savings for xmas and have some peace of mind it was worth it to me....also bear in mind it also took over an hour out of my day off!

Has anyone managed to negotiate a deal and then accept then renegotiate? Reading some of the posts one chap got an absolute bargain for £58. For £70 I'm missing TNT sports. When you renegotiate do you have a 14 day cooling off period? If so I'm in day 7 of my contract renegotiation. I really wanted TNT sports to be included. Any tips / advice?0

Somehow got away with paying £40 per month before and had:
1 gig fibre, anytime calls, extra box, Maxit TV with Sky Sports HD, Kids channels, Sky Movies, TNT Sports & Netflix Standard.
Renewal coming in at £136 per month.
1st line retentions could get it for £70 odd and that was with cutting some services.
Outbound retentions team offered £60 per month for the same package.
Which I accepted. It is 50% more than what I pay now.
But I think I got it at a steal before and when comparing to what new customers get and the equivalent on Sky, I would be paying a lot more.0 -
For first time ever, they haven’t called me back..cancelled last week heard nothing..to be honest I’m not that fussed about staying with them0

Currently have the full package with Virgin at a super price. Today I received a phone call from an India call centre .. lovely lady who apologised for not doing better ... best offer £94.50p a month. She undertstood if I declined this offer, which I duly did. Rang Virgin to cancel as my contract is up on 14th January. After a few button pushing, almost immediately (whole process was 5 minutes!!) got through to a Scottish lady who asked why I was leaving .. replied cost ... without further ado was given a cut off date and instruction on my last bill and returning their equipment. Super efficient service but a little unusual as I expected more of an effort to keep me ... guess the quote for the day have been reached. Now the waiting game and the beginning of the work to see what else is out there. Will update when and where ::)1

Have been paying £27.40 a month for M125 broadband only. (No phone, no TV).
Got an email saying it was going up to £45.40 on 8 January when my contract ends, and then to £51 from 1 April when a promotional discount ends.
Check on line. Once logged on to the VM website, there was an offer to renew for 18 months at £27.00 a month, which I have accepted.
I think I looked in two or three different places. There was a banner offering to renew my contract at £32. But I found if I went in to the change/upgrade area, I could renew for £27.
Happy with this. I normally spend hours on the phone haggling. Last year it took 6 hours of whatsapp messages.0 -

I'm on basic TV / phone and 250mb fibre for £47.
It just shot up to £74 which I'm not chuffed about.
Online I got them down to £42 for the same as I currently have, but wanted them to either drop more or boost the fibre up. Plus net claim to get 500mb for £35 for new customers.
Virgin couldn't do anything so cancelled. I'll see if they come back to me as I would like to stay for the convenience really. Am I being too cheeky / ambitious? I'd rather they ring me than me crawl back lol
Cut off in Jan and need to return equipment - which is a first I've heard of, but no biggie.
Any other thoughts or tips people?
Thanks!"The future needs a big kiss"0
