Will do, found lots of deals that are half the VM speed, I'll use those as a lever.0

My package is M250, Maxit TV, 1 TV Box and chatter weeks for £44
That means your paying £34 for an extra TV Box, an O2 sim you dont want and another 100 broadband?
Similarly my grandparents took out a deal for £83.75 a month for M600 broadband, maxit tv, sky sports, sky cinema, kids channels, netflix, unlimited o2 sim, an extra box and anytime calls line rental. Thats only £5.75 a month more for a whole lot more?FTB - April 20200 -

Gig1 broadband - Hub 5 (WiFi guarantee included at no extra cost and up to 3 WiFi pods if needed)
230+ channels with Sky Cinema and Sky Sports HD
Virgin 360 box
Virgin 360 mini box
Anytime chatter
Netflix standard
Unlimited o2 5G sim
On a 18 month contract. O2 and VM both will go up mid contract as per T&C's.

Was on bigger volt bundle for £44.
M200 broadband (recently increased speed to 250)
Maxit TV
Some sort phone that isn't plugged in. Probably weekend calls.
Received price increase notification of £15 per month. Called today and got £29 until May and then back to the original £44 until contract ends in Jan 2024.
Noticed they are offering the same deal to new customers for £39.50 so may have able to get a further reduction by doing the usual cancellation, escalation to outbound. Happy though as i'm not taking a new contract so should be able to dodge the 2024 increase with new contract in Jan.0 -
I had M250, unlimited calls and basic TV for £45 a month. I phoned up to cancel. Retentions called 2 days later, M350, no TV and anytime calls for £32 a month. Don't think that's too bad.0

I tried the cancellation then speaking to outbound retentions but they said they couldnt do anymore discount as £44 was the best price (after price increase).
I am going to push it in Jan though and see if they will give it for £39.50FTB - April 20200 -
Got the email re the price rise. I’m on 200mb, talk weekends, maxit tv and sky sports…..currently paying £54pm till later this year when contract expires…but now hiked by £21pm from May. Safe to say my cancellation will be going in. Notwithstanding the current inflationary backdrop, have never had a price increase from Virgin anywhere close to 39% before.
Anyone else on same or similar package got a decent deal from outbound retentions recently since price hike announced ?0 -
I am currently paying £60 to Virgin Media for Volt M500 Fibre Broadband, Mix TV and Talk Weekend.
So had the Virgin price increase email for my bill by £12 a month which is frankly insane.
Called the 1st line retentions yesterday which frankly was a waste of time, but necessary.
Anyway, I pulled the cancellation trigger and the process started rolling and ready to jump to another provider.
This morning at 10 am I got a call from +44 20 3743 6946 (2nd line retentions number) .
Even before I could explain why I was leaving the lady I spoke to said I assume you leaving because of the price increase.
She dropped the price without dropping a beat to £34 for 18 months for 1GB Broadband. (Broadband is most important because of work and all I need)
This makes my bill £414 cheaper over the life of the contract.
Hope this helps.
