your paying way to much, check the previous/other posts for 100M Broadband alone
I'm on 100M Broadband and paying £23, others get it for between £18-24
assuming you are out of contract you need to call and give 30 days notice to leave.
shop round for other deals, have an idea of prices etc also the fact you feel you are paying way to much compared to others.
Retentions should call you back, just explain the above
Paying to much now (can't afford it) compare prices for other Broadband & have they ready1 -

EDIT: I went for the £17/month 100Mb they offered + casually asked about the pods which they offered for free (supposedly £5/month otherwise). Think that is as a good deal as I want to get.0 -
Hi all,I'm currently in the haggling process with my contract ending on the 9th April and my price due to shoot up. My package is:200M broadbandweekend calls (basic phone)Maxit TV + MoviesI was paying £72 a month which got knocked down to £68 the last few months when I called about the price rise.I have so far spoken to retentions about 5 times and today got the lowest price so far of £78 a month if I drop to 100M broadband or £68 without the movies. Before today I had £79 as the best (was over 30 days at that point before end of contract). My bundle is due to go up to £106When people tell them they're cancelling what happens exactly? Does your broadband, TV and phone stop working at that point or would it cancel after the 30 days notice? Say if I cancelled now with 30 days until the end of my contract (30 days notice) then would I carry on receiving my services and likely get a call with a week asking me to come back with a better deal?Currently they offer the same deal but with 100M broadband to new customers for £62 a month and I received an e-mail from them today as below:Right now, you may be on the best offer for you. If you’d like to have a chat about your options, simply call 0345 454 1111 or 150 from your Virgin Media phone or mobile.
Bundle £100.00 a month for 18 months M200 Fibre Broadband Maxit TV Talk Weekends BT Sport Sky Cinema Bundle costs don’t include add-ons like paper billing, non-Direct Debit charges, or home phone extras such as Talk International. We’ve also included the option below, which is only available to new customers, to show you the sort of introductory price you could expect if you switch to another provider. New customers only Bundle £68.00 a month for 18 months then £100.00 a month M200 Fibre Broadband Maxit TV Talk Weekends BT Sport Sky Cinema

You tell them It’s too much money and you would like to put in a cancellation. You then have 30 days till your contract ends. During that 30 day process it is likely another retentions department will call you and offer a much more realistic price. Make sure in your account that your marketing preferences are set so that they can contact you. If they don’t call you and you don’t want to cancel make sure you call them back and cancel the cancellation near to the end of the 30 day period. People are getting the maxit tv 200mb and sports (which historically is more expensive than movies) for £59-66pm so you should be offered less than that I would have thought. If you have smart tv Now TV is another option for Sky movies. Have an idea how much it would cost with Sky and now tv for what you want ie equivalent package and have that price in mind when negotiating1

100 mbps Broadband & landline with free weekend calls. Going up to £45 a month so I cancelled in February. Several missed calls from Virgin on the landline in the first week and a couple of silent ones to my mobile. Then nothing.
With a week left to disconnection, got a call to my mobile yesterday offering £18 for 18 months, which I accepted.0 -

Just to check sorry, going into the cancellation period won't risk losing my email address and mailbox with them would it? Assume that would only happen after the cancellation period but worried once you start the ball rolling they may get rid of some things sooner?0
