I've just got off the phone to them and got offered £22 a month with two months free which I accepted.
I could have declined it and waited for Retentions but was happy enough with that seeing as my bill was going up to £34.73 in Sept.0 -
On the old vip bundle with extra box and some other little perks. Was paying £126, phoned today to cancel and got offered 86 pm for 6 months, then a review. Asked if it was 6 month contract and he said yes. Not had an email, and no change in my package o line yet. Hoping there's just a delay as I'm happy with that.0

Last week I cancelled my VM broadband (50mb) contract after 5 years. Fed up with haggling every 6-12 months, its either end of discounted contract or another price rise letter. Was offered 6 months @ £33.48 then 6 months @ £36.48.....so I gave my 30 days notice. Plusnet were offering £70 cashback - to pay for a new Openreach install.
VM rang today offered £19 for 50mb (& £24 for 100mb). Told em to shove it!
So, it seems like only when they were contacted by BT/Openreach did they take me seriously, and it wasn't a call centre in India or Philippines for a change.

You got a call back quickly. Do retentions usually back in a week or so ? I’ve been waiting a couple of weeks now.0

I put my notice in on 11th July and not had a call back. I've now booked a (free) line install with Talk Talk and will move to them in August if nothing changes with Virgin.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
Been trying to change my husband‘s name from my virgin media account as he was on able to deal with bills and they finally did this but with a new contract are you £40 added to the charges despite no changes. Phoned the option for bills and then the option for leaving the guy on Bill said his screen wasn’t working the system was down he would phone the next day the woman from leaving kept saying she would be back hold on a minute she couldn’t find any reason for the changes just because it was a new contract the package price went up by £40 a month it’s a big hike and I can’t afford it so should I wait and see what this guy says tomorrow from bills or phone again and try to speak to retention team I used to get an £8 discount a month and they will probably offer that and no more and it’s still way too high. I don’t really want to leave but if you can’t get the bill down then I’m going to have to
I’ve been with them since the beginning, sorry for any mistakes
I am recording this as I am disabled.
