Fantastic service? This is the Virgin Media thread, are you lost? :rotfl:0 -
First person I spoke to told me no deals (after the automated message telling me I could have £2 a month for six months without speaking to anyone)
They put me through to disconnections who offered me £25 (after the price rise) for 12 months. Maybe I could have held out for a better deal but that's still slightly cheaper than I'm paying now...0 -
Looking to change now. To be honest, we have got to the point where we don't really watch the Virgin TV. We're currently paying below

Phoned them and the best they can do for me is £59.50 now and in September it will be £62.50
Seems very expensive.Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Hi all
Cancelled at the end of my contract (been a customer for a number of years) and the end date is Friday. Not had any calls yet - which is unusual. Any ideas why this may be?0 -
They are unwilling to offer a better deal .0

Haven’t moved it yet - was expecting the callback to be honest!0

Their retention team needs training.... 'erbet told me I need 50Mb to stream HD Netflix, yet Netflix says 5Mb is more than adequate. Virgin would only knock £2.50 off an already high bill or offer 20Mb with a 32Mb monthly usage for £27.....
Plusnet offered 30-40Mb with phone line for £28 and no cap on download. Also get to retain my (very) old LL number.
Whilst outages have been minimal with Virgin, the minute a sales oik tries to bullsh1t me, I stick my finger up and leave,Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I got my price hike letter through today, an increase of £4.01, bringing me to £30 for the M100 Fibre Broadband deal alone.
I phoned up just now and they offered a £4.50 discount for 6 months and then the contract ends in March 2020.
I think I got caught out by some strange discounts they offered when I renewed last year - I definitely don't think it's worth £30 a month!
When I mentioned the Post Office deal of £15.90 for 11Mb that was laughed at - "You can't even open Facebook with that speed!"
I was ready to leave with the above deal, called up on Sunday and ended up with retentions. They offered to drop my broadband only deal down to 50Mbps for £24 a month for 12 months, which I accepted.
The other deal I was considering would have ended up the same price for 38Mbps elsewhere, and I'd need a phoneline reactivated.
I could perhaps have knocked them down a few quid, but I'm happy enough for now.0 -

Had Virgin Retentions calling this morning (wish I'd seen your post sooner). Offered a fixed price for 18 months at £26 per month - Could have knocked a couple more quid off... As long as they don't try to sneak in any price increases next year, it will work out cheaper in the long run than switching to Plusnet.
