Anyone with Giffgaff?

The best deal advertised at MSE appears to be tpo, £6.99pm for 600mins, unlimited text and 2GB 4G. But their international call rates are a lot higher than Giffgaff if that's relevant. Another factor to consider is that tpo require a £50 deposit before they allow roaming and international calls - refundable after 6 months. Crazy stuff! It's a real wrench leaving GG after all these years but I'm so close to it.0

My contract with EE is up in September, currently paying £34 a month.
I don't need a new phone (I keep my handsets until they die, I'm not bothered about having a new phone every 2 years)
So would like to go to a sim only plan, the cheapest I can see for what I need is £15 a month with Giffgaff.
I don't know anyone that's with them so....are they a good provider to go with? any bad points?0

I know a few people on Giffgaff and find the network quite inferior in relation to receiving messages and calls at certain times of the day, I suppose it depends on the area you are in but I would never use them myself.0

Giffgaff use the O2 network .
Personally as a light user i have no problems .
I believe rates on 3 are now cheaper .0

            Thank you both
I never thought to look at 3, SIM only with them for what I need will be £16 a month (but tied in for 12 months)
I believe on Giffgaff your not tied in at all? So could I try them for a month and if there rubbish get a new SIM from 3?0

Giffgaff has been awesome for us, signal has been good in most places. Think most people may be thrown off by a lack of over the phone CS but it's better for me actually just doing everything through the website and app, the flexibility of the goodie bags has been really useful too rather than a sim only contractYes Your Dukeiness 0 0

i was on Giff Gaff for a couple of years and found it pretty good. Price wise they cant be beat. But unfortunately i could never seem to get a signal whilst at home which eventually lead to me leaving them. I know other people who have never had any network coverage problem. Definitely worth a try you've nothing to lose really0

If you can follow the guidelines cashback contracts usually offer by far the best deals.
Mobiles.co have a Vodafone 12 month sim only contract costing £9 per month after cashback with 8GB for example.0

GiffGaff has been great for me! I love the fact that I'm not tied to a contract and I can choose cheaper or more expensive packages depending on my finances each month. Not had any problems with signal or 4G.0

I've been with Giffgaff for nearly three years, and had little problems with them. I find their deals affordable and fair - the new £20 goodybag is a massive help for a heavy user like me.0
