Morning all
Shouldn't you be sitting in a comfy lounge, somewhere?
Have a good one. 0 -

DS's car is 18 months old we bought it new for him just before he took his test...it's his pride and joy and he wouldn't even take it to uni for fear of it being abused or damaged....
I'm still trying to compose him a text...but I think it may be better to phone later....
I really am hoping that they will be good to their word and bring the insurance details round....but there is this niggling bit of me that thinks if they didnt own up to it last night when they did it,they will only try to distance themselves from it now.....I shall send OH round tonight.
OH says you need to report it to the police as it happened on a public roadway - technically its driving away from the scene of an accident.
Make sure you get the crime number.
Then you can ring your insurance company with this number - it depends on how much the excess is I suppose and what the real damage is.
Its difficult to know for sure but when my car was clipped at the back (again stood outside the house) it looked like it was just a case of replacing a plastic bumper bit but they had hit it with such a force there was twisting to the underneaths so it was a garage job
Its really horrible when these things happen, when you know how much they have looked after their cars“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Is there anyone near u that has CCTV. Or OH could even say to new neighbours that we are asking other neighbours to see if they heard anything or got CCTV. Might be enough for them to give you insurance details. Morning all
Thinking of you saversue (((huggsss))).
I am in a similar position but luckily have good support from 2 of my sisters and some support from 2 brothers. But is still tough. I am at mums most days as the others work full time, but one sister lives with mum so is with her evening and night. Really feel for her (sister) as she works full time in the day and we are trying to get a night sitter provided as mum is often up in the night. I try to keep her awake in the day but its not helping the constantly getting up at night.
I find it tough enough being there all day and then come home to my DH who has severe COPD and is on oxygen 24/7, but luckily he is stable at the moment and ok to leave alone during the day but cant do much at home apart from watch TV, play his beloved guitar but seems happy enough and not too bored.
I find it mentally tiring more than physical at the moment.
Am trying to get some day sitting. At the moment I get one hour a week from the local hospice at home team. I take my dog out for a walk and its great not worrying if mum is up and about and falling. Rest of week, just nip out for 15mins at a time with the dog.
Am also very grateful to my dog Tessa for providing me with cuddles when it all gets too much

OK...so I've reported it to the insurance....sadly no one has cctv but the neighbour has said to me that the car was hit last night by them.
I now need to provide their contact details to the insurance company once they are given to me.
MHOC....I would have though that a crime number was needed as yes technically they have left the scene of an accident, but apparently not as there have been no injuries!
Technically I've been told the neighbour is at fault but without them confirming their details the claim must go though on our policy (with 150 excess) until they admit liability...
It is going to need to be an insurance claim as the damage extends across the back bumper which is moulded plastic and onto the back side panel which is not.
HO HUM.....fingers crossed please everyone that we can get some good vibes and this person will pass their details on.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
