Perhaps Boris thinks he has magical powers, like a famous ancient British King:0 -
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0

I thought the EU parliament voted on and authorised all legislation in the EU. The EU parliament is voted for by citizens of the EU. How are they not democratically elected?
If you think the EU bureaucrats are 'democratically elected', then you clearly don't know what democracy is (or choose to not acknowledge the lack of democracy in this case because it suits your own views).
I didn't vote for Juncker, Merkel or any of the distant, disconnected EU petty dictator bureaucrats, and have no means to boot them out while they mess up Europe. That is not democracy.:cool:0 -
Merkel is not a bureaucrat as far as I know she is an elected politician.0

Juncker is the head of what is effectively the EU civil service so cannot approve any legislation. Not sure what your point about Merkel is?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

And Mervyn King has just issued a positive statement re. this issue – which I agree with. It is very early days yet, and everyone who listened to the arguments knew there would be some instability as things were adjusted. The whinging pommery and doom and gloom are irritating. The democratic decision to Vote Leave has been taken. It now needs to be implemented according to the key premises on which it was based, and people need to move on and believe in our country (rather than the dictatorial, dysfunctional, failing EU). Things will be great for Britain!:T0 -

I live in the midlands and didn't get to vote for London Mayor, anyone in the Welsh Assembly or any senior civil servants.0
