What a strange question. Governments very often agree not to tell the public what is going on. In this case it seems that 28 national governments have agreed to this for some reason.

History is littered with Governments doing deals with dictators for the wider good.

That's exactly what I am trying to do. The money merely funds my time left.

And your doggie friends. My sister has only eight rescued ones now, but she used to have 26 or more. Amazing what different personalities they all have. :D

And sometimes its not too long afterwards that they go to war to get rid of them and leave a mess behind.

Quick question: I can't work out how the 'Ignore' function works on this site. Does anyone have the answer to that? Many thanks.

When I dropped my dog off at the vets this morning I came home, and within 5 mins I was pacing up and down, very unsettled because he wasn't home, even though I am fully aware of how much I love him, it still surprised me that I couldn't even last 5 mins without missing him. I really couldn't handle that many dogs though, but my heart goes out to her for giving so many other dogs a loving home and a second chance in life, we are thinking about a second dog. I retire this December, and I will probably resume doing home checks for rescue centres, I used to do it a few years ago, but when I went back to work I couldn't spare the time..
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop

I know what you mean. My sister really suffers when she loses any of her creatures – they are like people to her. I couldn't do what she does mainly for that reason, but also because it dominates your life, especially as she takes in some dogs that have been badly mistreated and/or crippled.

if 'growth' is your only economic objective, then wouldn't it be better to show ALL the countries of the world and note their 'growth rate' and their immigration and see what the correlation is?
Some developing countries have high growth rates from a low base. You can't compare these countries to the UK. E.g China sees a lot of migration from the country side to its industrial cities. It is not international migration, but it still helps to fill vacancies in Chinese factories that make stuff for us.

that may indeed be so, but one can't 'prove' a hypothesis by just selecting few examples that fit the hypothesis: one needs to use all the relevant available data (not of course that a correletion necesarially 'prove' it either).
