We do have trees, but none are over 8ft high / 10cm round trunk so nowhere near big enough for a tree house sadly

I posted my support on your spammed thread so here it is again! You seem much more yourself, a job you love that brings in a proper income, back in your own home, on top of the problem and dealing with it - lovely to see. Agree re digital footprint, you can choose to put your life out there but the children did not.

Good time for B to find out that when things aren't possible for purely practical reasons you need to come up with an alternative plan!

Oh I meant a fund for an actually giant old tree, I used to have funds for ridiculous things until my fickle mind was turned. Quite clever of my parents really as they never had to be the bad guy saying no and got a bit of money sense in there! Apart from the fact I didn't save for anything bar some Betti Spahetti's

Payday over here! Had a cheeky takeaway for tea and finally had the money to get a single bed for Oscar's room as sleep improved for a few nights then went to pot. If co-sleeping is what he needs then that's fine, but it's being done in his room/his bed and I need something that actually contains my feet  got a £150 frame from ikea and a £119 mattress so feeling a little cash poor before the month has begun! I'm doing a 2 week spending freeze so hoping to build some savings up fast.

Glad I wasn't going mad but how annoying about the thread being deleted.

Sorry to hear sleep has gone to pot again Cinny but new bed sounds good. H (joining in with the nicknames) has been a lot better but I still end up lying on her floor in the middle of the night most nights while she goes back to sleep :rotfl:.

Got paid yesterday here , take home pay gone down slightly as have increased my pension. No council tax this month though which is good as we are going away in Feb half term so need some money for that.

All of my old threads are there, some of them are over 200 pages so I'm sticking here and feeling safe for now. In a week or so might start a new one once all the hullabaloo is over.

Alternative plan hatched - taking advantage of being totally the wrong time of year and bought a climbing frame/swing set in the sale. So kind of a treehouse. Yeah, massive debt so shouldn't spend anything but we all know I'm crap at that rule so that's my treat for clearing £3,863.91 this month. That's 5.87% of our debt gone, £124.63 a day. Aiming for £4000 next month which would cross 6% in February. Freaking pleased with this month, onward and upwards.

Tax return in. There are no more words for that.

I think that's more than fair, and it'll be worth its weight in gold come summer when you can spend your time in the garden playing with it on your down time instead of going out to costly places.

The debt you cleared this month is amazing! Definitely feels like we've got the old Dinah back spirit wise. This debt will be gone before you know it :)

I'm so glad we got the bed, Wendz. It's not really ideal or text book perfect sleeping but I got 8 hours last night and my back doesn't feel awful from being on the floor/in the rocking chair. Its something we've been thinking about for a while but it really was worse case scenario (OH now wants the same mattress for our bed, it's £230 so not bad at all but we're going to wait until April)

O (might as well join in!) has a bad cough and runny nose this morning. Seems fine in himself so I'm hoping it's just our standard teething cold over anything too terrible.

Brilliant debt clearance 5 +% in one month is a big achievement- the £50ks will be here before you know it.

I think the play set is a good idea, you will use it for years, a good investment.

Hope everything is going well :)

We had a late Christmas gift in the form of a £10 amazon voucher over the weekend so I've put that on my account and decided to start working on Swagbucks to build our balance back up. Another Summer at home so I want to get something fun for O for the garden.

Got invited to the US for my BIL's 30th celebrations this September. We'd be able to do it for under 2k, plus fees for new passports and visas. But can I get OH to agree to it? Can I heck. Shown how determined and focused he is to work on our long term savings once our debt is gone, however!

That's a shame he won't agree to go, certain things are not to be missed. I know I've taken it too far the other way on occasion, but you never know what's around the corner, I've had two friends my age already pass away through illness or accident and at least if it happened I can say I lived (and sign all the debts into my name, divorce NIM on paper and take them to the grave with me :D)
