Chat to us here, I think it helps us all, definitely helps me.
And everything was a lot easier to be on top of pre-children. Don't ever regret them but wow they take up a lot of time, money and energy!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sorry to hear about Grace. Hope the results come back negative for her. That is a lot of stress to bear.
Kavics - sorry to hear you are feeling like this. Have you tried Kon Marie to do a declutter. I started it in Jan and stalled in April when my brother and his family came over from Australia. I am in my busiest phase of work at the moment but when the kids go back to school I will be getting back into it againTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

£65 per day is a high amount and for me unlikely to be sustainable. However I am going to try for half that and pay £1,000 for the month. In fact I might as well try and start as I mean to go on. There are 14 days left in August and I have the free time to get focused. I'm sure you will be so busy with getting back into the house that you will be meeting yourself come back and won't have time to do extra money making?
Sorry to hear about Grace, bless her. She has proved that she's a fighter in the past and I'm sure she will again. She has come so far.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
😁Debt Free and you can do it too0 -
Good luck with the move back and sorry to hear about Grece's lung problems.
Does anyone think back to the old times like it was better than now? I mean, just from my experience, even though I had 30k debt, I was so focused and organised most of the time. Now that I am debt free I have no motivation whatsoever. I just read back old diaries and I worked 60 hours a week, did an Open Uni degree and was just on the top.
It all came to me at the weekend, I just felt so out of control of my life. I have been overspending on a daily basis, not to mention the amount of clothes in the house making me miserable (I have not got rid of anything of mini Kavics's old clothes). I keep meaning to set up a saving account for her and sort out my pension but I have had those things on my to-do-list for about 2 years. I need to change my car but keep waiting for a miracle. I really need to pull myself together. I think it was the diary, the daily chat, as well as not having a child that kept me so focused. Anyway sorry for rambling, just trying to sort my life out. I know that a diary would help me but not sure if I fit in MSE anymore without debt.
I might do a 10 pounds a day challenge in September, selling baby clothes and equipments.
Kavics17 I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't have your own diary on here, they're not to just get debt free but also to stay debt free, which is what you are talking about.
Also it's YOUR diary and you can talk about anything you want.If people want to join you, which I'm sure they will, then you'll get the support and not feel so alone in your task. Get writing! :T XX

Woohoo! 5pm and no phone call, so that looks like CF is a negative, massive relief. Does mean this bronchioectasis is now very likely, but that's not a life limiting condition, just means 2-3x daily physio, daily rigorous exercise, more medication etc, but that's definitely the better outcome. Much relief.
Can't get hold of the building company re my house. Have a site meeting tomorrow at 3pm but I can't see how we can move back in when there is no toilet, sink, oven etc?Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

SO glad there was no phone call today! As you say everything else can be coped with and medical science is coming up with new things all the time - fingers crossed.
I don't see how you can move back into you house either - maybe they'll have a magic wand with them at the meeting. Seriously though if they pull their fingers out it should be possible to get the work done in a reasonable amount of time..... as long as they don't do bodge jobs in order to get it finished.I Believe.....

So pleased there was no call. Bet that was a massive relief.
Kavics I know how you feel. I don't have debt (bar student loan) and just keep spending money on rubbish at the moment. I'm blaming the summer holidays so hoping I can be a bit better in September when things are back to normal.
Yesterday we went into town and was fairly MSE as went to the library for the reading challenge for Poppy. Then bought a birthday present for their cousin which I used a voucher for. They had free face painting so Poppy had hers done . Did spend money on pancakes in the ice cream place but Poppy bless her counted out some change in her penny pot to pay towards it.0 -
Last week we ordered take away at work for lunch twice. Plus I popped in to the shop nearly every day to get something for dinner. It's been a massive wake up call as I spent 25 pounds and it wasn't even justified. This week I brought lunch in every day and managed to only pop into the shops to buy breadroll mid-week. Meal planning is the way forward.0
