  • I've actually been thinking about your pay off rate lately. It was such an amazing achievement. Am I right in thinking it was around the £65 per day?
I think if you could pay off half that amount per day that would be amazing considering you now have a mortgage and children. A little more expense these days.
    Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Looks like you've brought the sunshine home with you, and hope your house completed like they said :)

That is a really good goal to work towards, would that be around £2000 ish a month? We currently sit around the £1200 a month mark so I wonder if we could join you on the target?? At least we could bully each other along.

I'd love the join in. We'd be looking at approx €1000-1500 per month. Sept and Oct are v expensive months so it might be minimal payments during them months but after that we should be really able to steam along!

Poor Dinah's going to innocently log on to find herself at the head of a challenge :rotfl:

Will be a push but it will be a good motivator. Currently sat in the lull between paydays where it's just a case of spending as little as possible. Thankfully we love our new house so weekends spent at home in the garden are something to look forward to!

Yep, it was around £65 a day, so depending on the number of days in a month would be around £2k a month. September will be £1950 as a goal.

So so tired the last few days, think it's just time of the month and I'm already being treated for low b12, folate and anameia so it's just taken it out of me a bit.

Due to move back into the house on the 21st. The snag list I did yesterday is 2 sides long. Mostly around the decorating being poor, but also wonky tiles, no door handles etc. Oh and no fitted bathroom. That's an issue.

Some more health issues with little miss, need a few tests over the next few weeks but looks like we're going to be adding daily physio for her lungs to our list of things to do. Doctor has assured us it isn't life limiting but looks like there is some scarring there which coupled with her immune conditions and existing lung problems quite simply is a headache she could have done without.

Chasing people around this morning, still need about half my class participants to pay for September courses.

Dad has kindly taken my car, £165 for two new tyres and tracking to be done. Need him to bring it back so I can go meet the plasterer though.

£1950 in September, I can get on board with that! Have half of the month of work, and my lone mum friend is back to work (teacher) so will be able to start off by keeping fuel/spends low. Not sure how much time we'll have for extra money making, seems like I get up at 5am and never stop until 8pm as is. By then I just want to flop and watch telly.

Sorry to hear about Grace, but glad it's not a life limiting condition for her.

5 days until the move, hope they manage to get it ready on time!

Good luck with the paying off everyone! I might do my own little challenge to make money in Sept as planning on doing a carboot sale and selling some other things. Hoping prolific surveys will pick up again too.

Poor Grace with her lung problems :(.

Fingers crossed for moving back in on the 21st.

Waiting for results of a cystic fibrosis test today, apparently a small number of children it is missed at birth, so they tested her yesterday as it's this or bronchiectasis. If they haven't called by 6pm the test was negative. Fingers crossed.

Think there is a site meeting at our house today but no one has told me when, I want to know if Monday move day is going ahead as at the moment it looks unlikely unless they stick two fingers up to the snagging list.

Good luck with the move back and sorry to hear about Grece's lung problems.

Does anyone think back to the old times like it was better than now? I mean, just from my experience, even though I had 30k debt, I was so focused and organised most of the time. Now that I am debt free I have no motivation whatsoever. I just read back old diaries and I worked 60 hours a week, did an Open Uni degree and was just on the top.

It all came to me at the weekend, I just felt so out of control of my life. I have been overspending on a daily basis, not to mention the amount of clothes in the house making me miserable (I have not got rid of anything of mini Kavics's old clothes). I keep meaning to set up a saving account for her and sort out my pension but I have had those things on my to-do-list for about 2 years. I need to change my car but keep waiting for a miracle. I really need to pull myself together. I think it was the diary, the daily chat, as well as not having a child that kept me so focused. Anyway sorry for rambling, just trying to sort my life out :). I know that a diary would help me but not sure if I fit in MSE anymore without debt.

I might do a 10 pounds a day challenge in September, selling baby clothes and equipments.
