Itchy. Think he's all scabbed over though so he's coming on the school run today. It's been 6 days and most things say by day 5 at the latest they're usually no longer contagious.
I'm just plodding away trying to make some pennies. Don't think we'll hit the £2k target this month - have a £330 bill to pay to the structural engineer, my wages are down due to the pox, NIMs car needs around £500 of repairs. Should still be lower but not as much as I wanted. Still, celebrate the small victories right - it hasn't gotten bigger.
Excellent that the debt hasn't increased and £2,000 is a huge amount so I wouldn't worry about not hitting that. How is the house coming along? I am looking forward to seeing photos of the finish!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Oh brilliant that sounds very positive. You'll all be in a better frame of mind once you are back in. Then you can go hell for leather with the debt busting!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

We're at the opposite end of the scale, we go to the supermarket/grocers every day. We just buy what we need meal-to-meal now. We were finding if we did a big shop a lot of stuff would either wind up in the freezer because we'd change our mind on what we fancied, or we'd end up not making something because we don't have as much time as we thought in the evening.
My goodness, are Nooks even still a thing?! I thought they packed in selling content over here in September?
So glad your house is coming together, will keep everything crossed its ready after your holiday0 -
Out library only does ebooks for the nook
Occasional lurker dropping inbecause I can't resist a book discussion. I use the Overdrive app on my ipad to listen to audiobooks whist I potter about (I get so much more 'reading' done that way, though I realise that may not be possible with the snappers in tow!), but there are e-books as well. I'm a member of S'ton and M'bro and can access both their e-catalogues. That said, it sounds like you have plenty to be going on with!!! I'm the same but with physical books from charity shops. There's a thread on here somewhere for reading all your books before buying any new ones, but last time I looked the posts weren't very frequent.
I'm with CMD, can't wait to see finished house pics!
Cinny, I find myself shopping little and often too, even though I meal plan for the week. Fresh food just doesn't seem to last very longWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
How you getting on Tete? Lovely to see you.
Very long site meeting today, now need to write a couple of shirty emails. Along the grounds of 'you can't disconnect our electrics then refuse to reconnect them!'. I need to go and get some paint sample books again, pick colours before we go away as the provisional move in date is now the day we come back from holiday. Had already picked colours but the bit of paper appears to have gone walkabout. The plus side is the house is starting to look like a home again and when it's finished it will be a lovely one. I'm still considering the option of selling and starting anew though.
Sorted a paperwork box today to try to get this tax return done - found a christening card with £10 in, two £10 amazon cards, a £25 mothercare card, and a cheque for £900 from the insurers! It may well have been cancelled and re-issued but will see what the bank say.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Found someone to take over one of my gym classes. It's very badly paid and I've been struggling with it as it is a longer class than the rest, it's the 5th class of the day, and it's in a really loud room so frequently I feel like I'm just yelling at everyone, I keep reminding myself that as a teacher a class has to work for me as well otherwise my job will start to seem like hard work and who wants thatThe change will mean we're £10 a week worse off, but there really is a limit on what I'll do for money and this class has crossed the line on it.
Hows the new house Cinny?
Last day in reception for Grace tomorrow, she's very very excited. Teacher gift sorted for £4 - got a plain wooden box (like a jewellery box) which she's drawn on in paint pens, a picture of her teacher on the top and some of the students dancing around the edges. Bought a plant for the TA and she has made a little clay model of her.
Had to buy new travel insurance, fine, family policy for under £17. I added on NIMS broken brain, fine, no increase. His asthma, no increase. My blood pressure, no increase. Grace's lung problems, erm, yes. £79 increase.

Hooray for the pox being scabbed over. No sign with Grace?
That's good luck finding the vouchers etc, fingers crossed you can get
Sounds like a good decision on the class - not worth it if it isn't working for you as you say. Hopefully all your classes will get booked up. How the cheque reissued.
many weeks do they book for?
Hope Grace enjoys her last day of reception. Last day of year 1 for Poppy and she was very excited too this morning.
Hi Tete!0 -
Car repairs £220. That's a relief. Engineer is £330. Car tax was £190. NIMs speeding fine was £170. Skip £150. Expensive week.
Nope no sign of pox yet on Grace.
Usually they book for 6 or 7 weeks. Depends on the term length. Quite a lot of my students have now rebooked, but I'm definitely going to have some spaces on a Monday night and morning, so going to advertise these. Maybe start Thursday nights in January, lots of people like to start something new then, although they're not great at rebooking in February!
Grace is very excited to be a year one pupil now, I think Ben is very ready to move up to school nursery too. I do need to sort him out with his wrap around care though.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I keep reading the thread just don't have time really to write a post as well.
Hope the house will come together nicely Dinah, it must be so stressful. Rooting for you. Also hope that Grace won't come down with the pox, I actually had mini Kavics vaccinated against it.
Tete, how was Budapest? I saw the awesome photos and was so glad that you went there, I want everyone to see how awesome the capital is.
All good here, I need to start pulling myself together financially. I had so much expenses this year, whatever could go wrong went wrong. Just hope that it is the end of it as I will run out of money completely if the car breaks down once again.
Still no man in the horizon but made the decision to start dating again, it's hard to believe that it's been 18 months since I had the last one. Anyone has any good advice how to start again?0
