I hear you Louby- My DH works outdoors and eats like a horse, and my SS has just turned 13....he has more on his plate than me now! He's not with us full time so that definitely helps with our budget.
HR - wow - that's an amazing saving. Doing the yeehaa dance right now!
Meal planning is helping here too, but I need to invest some more time in it, as getting bored of same old choices.

Thanks CMD - glad you found me.
My rainbow is very precious indeed. I had 4 miscarriages and thought we would never make it - so I know I am truly blessed. I have a 13 year SS who is amazing too. A very happy ship, despite the money rubbish.
Hope you are well xThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
A little news from us on the debt front....
We're starting our DMP, but wanted to do 2 or 3 months of token payments to each creditor to help build up an emergency fund....but whilst we do that, as a DMP will not be agreed, it looks like the CC's will not stop interest or charges. Virgin have added £120 for last month, waiting to find out what MBNA will charge....but we know once we put the DMP in place we will be paying £150 a month off the debt, and hopefully they will stop the charges....so it seems daft to do 2 more months of token payments as essentially we could be adding £200/£300 to the debt per month, just to save approx £15 for the EF onto the debt.
Sooooo, the letters are written and we will be kicking the DMP off ASAP. Fingers crossed they accept the offer and do stop the charges - otherwise we may have to do token payments just to make them default us!
My DH has a bill due for payment during Aug for £1K, which we will be putting straight into the EF. His account is already all "paid" for August - love love love YNAB as it makes budgeting into the future so easy to do, and I have nearly £500 in the house account, and am on track for everything.

So very true ladies!
No major news from me on the money front. DD very poorly today, nursery rushed her to the Dr's as her temp went up to nearly 40 degrees!!! Bit scary - she's much better now - they think it's viral, she has a rash too. So I will be home tomorrow....and a bit of a mess up from me, we realised that she is also not accepted for nursery on Thursday as it's now school holidays and we decided not to put her in....and I am supposed to be at a big work training day thing. Eek. DH could look after her, but he doesn't earn if he doesn't work...I may just see what happens and stay home to look after her.
Been a bit lazy with surveys / and nothing happening on Ebay at the mo. Need to have a holiday (next week) and then get back on the go. The good news is that we will have lived within budget for this month overall which I am pleased with...and the current account balance is getting healthier.
Still waiting to hear back from the big bad three as to whether they have accepted our payment plan - Feels weird that i have nothing I can actively pay off at the moment in terms of actual debt - but I do now have the DH's tax bill to turn my eyes too, and the need to build the emergency funds too - so that's what I will do.
