  • So glad you are ok Ramble. I am just so glad. And oh too. I can't believe you didn't get the heat. We have been baking. So hot all the time. Lots of late nights because its simply too hot!

Your company must really value you, I would love a few more opportunities at work, sounds like you are in a really good position and 1:1 coaching. Will you let us know how you get on. Hope you enjoy it all.

And good luck for mot. Hope it all goes/went well.

Ps Im really sorry for swearing earlier in your diary. It was only afterwards when I thought oh dear you might be offended. So i am sorry. xxx

Nothing much offends me PSL! I have a colourful dialect when I choose - need to start realising that DD can hear and understand or I might get caught out!!

MOT news: It passed - First TIME - and no sign of an oil issue. Yay. First time I have ever had a car go through MOT. Not sure how much it is going to cost as in typical rural style, the guy at the garage just wanted to go home for his friday night and he said he'd sort in the next week or two!!

Off to work for a few hours now, and then food shopping with DH - always an effort in getting him not to deviate from list!

Spent £47 in L1dl and £22 in Morrissons. Felt like a lot given we are going to be away for most of the week (DH doing a job for a friend) - did buy some monthly supplies e.g DD milk / cereal / toilets rolls...but even so. I had asked DH to do a list, but "he couldn't remember hearing me!" and so turned up without list and with a desire to buy everything!!

Thought I would do a survey update so I can keep a track of where I am with them: Want to earn £80 by end of year (feels a bit ambitious!)

Pinecone 1800 points (£18) - Best one so far - £3 a survey, interesting to do but can go quiet for a while.

MySurvey - 985 points - but I get chucked out of sooo many surveys on this site sometimes after doing a good few mins. GRRR. Not sure how much it's worth as website crashing.

One Poll - £9.05 - very slow to go up on here....need £40 to pay out.

Yep £80 is feeling a tad ambitious!!
If anyone can recommend any other good ones - please go ahead!

You're doing really well with the surveys - think I need to take a leaf out of your book & sign up to some... think I was signed up to YouGov but seems like a lifetime until you earn anything!! Xxx
  • So pleased about the MOT. You were due that goodness definitely.

I am trying really hard to not say anything rude around all my friends children. You must forget they can hear and some of my friends I've known for years without kids and then its a bit of an adjustment. My friends one year old can kind of say my name he tries so hard and its just the most amazing thing in the world. Im not very maternal but when he wants to show me something and he is calling me its just the best and there is nothing else like it.
£47 and £22 sounds ok for 3/4 of you. I tend to analyse my shopping receipt, if you're happy with it all and it will all get used doesn't seem too much? xxx

Hello everyone. Been away at a friends for a few days. DH was building them a huge fence, and I was just children watching and fun having.

    The good news:
We now have a £1K emergency fund! Now want to get it up to £2K, will be much slower progress as will be adding approx 30-50 a month.

Next solar panel payment is due to come in within next week or so. Should be about £215 (less than we got for Mar / Apr / May which was a but sunnier!!!) This will go straight into Christmas pot.

    The more annoying news:
Bad stuff always seems to happen when I am off work - dreading going back on Monday - September was going to be a nightmare month anyway, and this is only going to make it worse. Sort of my fault, sort of not....sigh, but still feel wholly responsible for it.. Urggh work stress. Hoping that when I actually get back next week and start trying to sort it, that by some miracle it all comes good!

Sort of bad news ref DMP is that have discovered it might have been better to not pay creditors too much to begin with, so they default account rather than putting payment markers on. May now need to stop payments to try and get them to default us instead. Guess it means we can add some more money to the EF's in the short term.

Need to pay quite a lot into DH's tax bill pot this month and DD's nursery bill is going up a bit too. Got a weekend away for friends 40th and then a big work thing. Think it's going to be a spendy month.

DH now has to work all weekend too so going to try not to mope!!

  • These things happen at work sometimes to us all. Hopefully when you go back In you can get it all organised. It will all come good in the end. Hope you are not too stressed out and don't worry too much about it. These things are part of the course and a lot of the time were always going to happen regardless.

Don't worry Ramble I am 100% certain you do a very good job at work and have no reason to worry about the things which have happened. xxx

  • Oh no I've just seen your milestone post. I had known you were going to the milestone inn I would have waited a few days to go with you! My loan went under £2 on tuesday so I was straight there to mark it!
Well done on the ef. Very good work. xxx

Waves hello :j (well, jumps up and down to attract attention whilst shouting hello :D

I know what you mean with work but don't beat yourself up about it. I used to get so stressed about things like that but now I tend to ask myself two questions. The first one is, did anyone die. If they didn't then I ask question two which is, will anyone be talking about this in a hundred years. Usually the answer to both questions is a resounding no (so far anyway ;)). Perhaps a bit daft but it helped me put things in perspective.

    Have a good one

Good questions Uhtred - always ask the first one, but not the second so will start doing that too.

    Thanks PSL.

Well something happened which has put EVERYTHING back into perspective....DD had a fit of sorts last night, about 10.30pm, really high temp, took her to A&E, and we ended up staying all night until about 3pm today. She has some sort of infection which they think caused it all. She's better-ish now - still got high temp, but on anti-biotics which will hopefully sort the infection.
Got very little sleep, and spent from 7am until 2pm trying to get a urine sample out of a toddler - nearly drove me insane. I was literally shuffling around the room trying to hold a pot under her - all a bit bonkers.

So everything planned for today didn't happen, including getting prepped for work...but it really doesn't matter. She's OK and that's what's most important.

Horrible car park charges and obligatory onsite shopping will dent the EF fund now, but that's what it's there for!
