It's amazing what people will buy. I've just sold an old damaged kindle and case for £15!

Great news about your day at work too! Now you can enjoy the rest of the week!

DH, as you can imagine, is feeling pretty chuffed right now. Shame it will go on clearing a debt, we shouldn't really have to pay, but such is life.

Now we have to pack these things so they end up in one piece at the right place.

what a bonkers world we live in.

Amazing stuff! Love to hear about stuff like that :)

    Hello!
I'm back.....I survived and it all went brilliantly, with no major dramas. What a relief. Amazing feedback from everyone who came and the team really pulled together. Really hard work though - worked 6am - midnight for 4 days, with a couple of hours in the middle of the day to get a nap and have some food. Feel totally broken now....thankfully have the rest of the week off.

I've just been paid, so need to catch up on the expenses and the budget. Noticed some cash has become 'Payable' from TCB - have £130 to cash in so that's going into the Christmas pot.

DH has to pay out the £600 bill in the next few days - think we will be fine to cover it thanks to that amazing ebay moment. It's been a real pain to get everything posted as all very heavy, but the last package went today. Fingers crossed the computer monitor survives the travel!

Hope everyone else is OK. I'll be catching up on diaries later hopefully!

Actually feeling not too bad today. Slightly annoyed by email from boss late yesterday asking me for budget figures as he wants to sort this week...when he knows I am on hols and have worked my socks off. Going to pretend I didn't see it!

We're off for a few days with the caravan. Yay.
September has been a really long and expensive month. Hoping October will be much better. I am going back full-time from next week so at the end of the month I will have a bigger pay check. DH will be dropping to 3 days a week, but overall i think we will still be better off. May even be able to increase our payments to the debt.

Focus for this month is FOOD BUDGET. I am too ashamed to post what it was last month - just goes to show, if I let DH shop / and we have loads going on so I do less cooking, it can all quickly go to pot.

Going to start Oct budget from today - £250.
We need to do a small shop on our way to caravan, but I have already got bits out of the freezer so just some fruit and veg really. Going to aim to spend no more than £20 - should get us to Saturday. On Sunday DH is having a small party as it's his big birthday - he wants a BBQ. There will be approx 10 adults, 5 kids. Need to plan for this so it doesn't break the budget. I'm thinking slow cooker ribs, and the usual BBQ fayre. We've got loads of tomatoes so will do a nice tom, basil and Moz salad. We'll griddle some of our courgettes too. Might do potato wedges and then salad. We'll have to see! Need a make ahead pud too.

Good news is that I have approx £350 in Christmas Pot, £1K in the EF.
We've got about £350/1900 of tax bill - so this will need the focus as needs to be paid by Jan.

Fingers crossed for a well behaved October. No nasty surprises please!

  • Ramble you are so busy. Hope you have a good time away. Your bbq sounds pretty nice! People will bring things to that as well especially ones with kids, hope you are looking forward to it.

I know you are really busy but I just need to tell you that I put £40 in a envelope with Ramble fund, for emergencies only written on it. I will need to tell you if I spend it but hoping to leave there and build on it next month.
Thank you for helping me with this. xxx

Hey PSL. Good effort on the Ramble fund!

Well we went and did a big shop today - £40 in Morrissons and then £92 (Eeeep) in Lidl. Had to buy a few bottles for the party tomorrow as well as lots of meat for the BBQ.

Morrisons shop was mostly soya milk for DD - a month's supply and washing powder. Also filled up car.

Had a lovely few days away. Back full time at work from Monday - can't wait for bigger pay packet at the end of the month!!
