I do like a good perusal of the forum.

Now have you given any thought to my feedback, where does the problem really lie here - is everybody else in the wrong, or is the problem perhaps closer to home?

I don't see a problem in phoning 15 minutes after someone was due at work, what else can they do? The fault lies with whoever should have informed them that she would be elsewhere.

If I didn't turn up for work at 7am and wasn't answering my mobile I'd hope they would call my home, for all they know she'd crashed her car on the way

BTW if noone answers the home phone either and they can't contact anyone they will contact the police (probably not after 15 minutes though)

If I were going to be 15 minutes late I'd be ringing to say I was stuck in traffic etc

My life's good - I work hard and where I disagree with my employer I generally discuss with them though I have asked sensible questions on here for specific advice. I may even have asked a question about my wifes employer on a specific legal issue rather than your incessant rants.

Does Mrs F actually know you post on here on her behalf and understand that you get stupid responses because you ask stupid questions

All fair comment except the last one in this instance. The OP's partner wasn't late she had been asked to go to a different site.
The areas of fault are poor communication between managers at her employer, and a failure of simple courtesy on the part of the person who called trying to contact her. I'd qualify the second part by wondering how polite the OP was in answering the question about her whereabouts.

I have posted responses to your queries on other threads but it does appear that you want to blame your wife's employers for every slight. It is not unusual for managers to contact staff if they haven't arrived for work so whether you consider 7.15am to be unsocial the manager will be wanting to know what has happened. If there is an internal communication issue then that is for your wife to speak to her manager and just check that rotas etc were undated.

I have had the situation when a member of staff had a stroke on getting ready for work - if not for managers trying to contact them and be worried when they couldn't reach them, and then alerting someone to go check on them in all likelihood would have not survived. Now that is an extreme case but you never know.

Not that extreme, I had a friend pass away whilst working overseas. The only people he knew there were his work colleagues, and they didn't check up on him until a few hours after he would normally be in work, by which point it was too late. He was 34.

On that basis if I am expecting someone and they don't turn up I'll always check up on them. I'd rather briefly disturb someone than have something bad happen.

Nope I've decided I dont give a rats !!!!. Now run along, surely you've got homework to do tonight.

For others who have sensible comments, please feel free.[/QUOTE]

The trouble is your definition of a "sensible" comment is one you agree with!

You have started thread after thread about you wife's work "problems" (as you see them). As far as I remember you have not liked the majority of the responses you have received in any of them.

Has it never occurred to you that perhaps you are the one that is out of step with the vast majority?

To answer your question, no I do not consider your wife's employer to have acted unreasonably here.

That won't be what you want to hear but that doesn't make my opinion wrong.

I agree with that, in this case it was complete miscommunication by the employer - however I made the comment about if I was going to be 15 minutes late due to traffic I'd have rung because the OP said they shouldn't have rung because she may just have been stuck in traffic at 15 minutes late

Also 9 times out of 10 when someone in the NHS fails to turn up at 7am it's because they have forgotten they were an early shift (and either thought they had the day off or were a late shift)

15 minutes is pretty standard to think I'm going to start ringing now
