I think you could've forseen a more measured negative answer. "No" might've shown less bias than "No,why on earth would I ;) "

Well, to be fair, that seemed to be the response of most people saying no on the other thread!

I don't send cards for anything.. I feel sorry for the trees.

Haven't done for years, I must have saved millions of trees and at least a few hundred £'s

My neighbour had hers up for nearly a week! I was like "ok love, I get it, it was your Birthday!" :D

I always leave cards up for at least a week, it seems a waste not to..
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I only buy a card for my OH and would find it odd to receive one from anyone other than him.

To be honest I'd count the option of only buying one if your invited to a celebration as a No option as it hardly counts as Yes as I doubt many people wouldn't buy a card related to the celebration they're invited to. So that makes 58 that virtually never by anniversary cards to 61 who do from anything between regularly to only for milestones. If the only for milestones option hadn't been there I wonder if it would have been so even.

I keep them up maybe two days max (sometimes just the day itself) and then they go in the recycling.

I used to save cards afterwards but then I thought what's the point, they're bringing me no joy just sitting there in a box, why am I keeping them?

I've only kept a few that are important to me for various reasons.

Me too. As a child it was what my parents did. When I met my first boyfriend in the early 80s, you could buy padded cards. I always used to get him one. Back then they cost around £5. A lot of money for a teenager on a Saturday job or training scheme wage. I used to be miffed each time his Mum took the card down from their living room after a day due to the amount I'd spent on it. You'd have thought after the first few times, I'd have learnt not to bother, not continued to buy them for the 4.5 years we were together. :rotfl:

    I think I've sent anniversary cards twice - parents 25th and 40th - they've a few years to go to their 50th.

I am not sure I'd remember to do my sister's as I couldn't tell you when she got married even though I was bridesmaid. Anyway, it was only in 2001 so got ten years before they hit silver.

My aunt's 50th will be on my 50th birthday so they have more of a chance of me remembering that one!

Oh, I remember those! About A4 size at least, with the front made of padded silky fabric and they came in a shallow box! Usually featured a drippy-looking teddy/puppy/red roses and a very corny verse! :rotfl:Binned my stash of them when I married DH nearly 30 years ago!

    This is a typical example:D

I wouldn't dream of dictating even to a relative how they choose to display their cards - definitely not to a neighbour! (Mind you, I've only been into a neighbour's home a couple of times anyway.)
