Do you send cards for anniversaries?

Only my very close family, like parents or siblings
Yes, I send a card every year if I attended the wedding
No, neither of those apply.
Well I'm very sorry I couldn't foresee every exact scenario and didn't want 25 options on the poll. Maybe you could do as others have undoubtedly done and pick the choice the most closely reflects your feelings on the matter, or don't participate if you feel none are close enough, or start another poll with different choices!0 -
My beloved husband has a cheerful relationship with the card industry - he loathes it *utterly*.
For our wedding anniversary (reminded by the computers!) he'll ask if there is anything I want. We did try to roll with the 'paper', 'cotton', 'leather' notions but they became handy pretexts rather than actively steering us.
Our sons get reminded when cards are expected largely by Scouts (ah, Mothers Day & Christmas - ever reliable!) but charmingly my husband will stand over the teenagers to produce "cards".
Me, I try to phone my folks on their wedding anniversary & last week was sticky as it was the first wedding anniversary since my much loved father-in-law died. Of course we called but a card would just have made matters more difficult. My sisters don't send cards but are in & out of the family home quite a bit anyway - I live further away so the phone call is often at a negotiated time!0 -
There are too many choices for this to be a reliable poll. It should have just been YES or NO.
Nevertheless, the poll proves so far that two thirds of people DO send anniversary cards.
Oh dear. :rotfl:
Better luck next time!cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -
Why isn't there a simple option for "Yes, I send a card"?
"Yes, I send a card and gift and we have a family meal or similar to celebrate" takes things into a completely different league.
I agree. No need for all the choices. The poll is not very good and not very reliable.Person_one wrote: »Well I'm very sorry I couldn't foresee every exact scenario and didn't want 25 options on the poll. You didn't need 25 options. Or even 6 like you have put. You only needed 2; YES and NO.
There are 5 various YES options, but only one NO, which suggests to me that you wanted to make it look like the NO option was receiving more votes. You splitting the yes's to make them all have smaller votes ensures the NO option has the most votes.
However, despite it looking at first glance that the NO option has the most votes; the poll says that TWO THIRDS of people DO buy cards for anniversaries.cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -

Well you make one then lol! :rotfl: Honestly, people (not just you btw) could start an argument anywhere! I think P1 has more or less covered all bases and it is after all only abit of fun!
I wish I'd just picked the first option now as the amount of anniversary parties I've been too is exactly two....my parents and my Aunty and Uncles and thinking back, I'm not entirely sure if I even got them a card? If in the future I did go to a party then I would more than likely purchase one as I feel it would be polite because and only because I'd been invited to the party and for no other reason.0 -

You think I started it to prove myself right?
I actually voted for one of my 5 'yes' options, only if invited to a party, so I'd be shooting myself in the foot there wouldn't I? :rotfl:0 -
I voted for close family but that includes some friends. I also send to everyone for the 1st anniversary if I attended the wedding. People who say they can't remember are just making an excuse, there are many ways to note important dates if you want to.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I guess it all depends on whether or not you want to remember.0 -
How about an option "I'm so into sending cards I send one to them even though they are divorced"Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0
