Because the requirements changed in December 2103 ... as already explained earlier in this thread. Therefore your comment was not relevant to the situation NOW.0

I have spoken to my insurer and there is a cloud over this subject so as I have no intention in listening to you
This was corrected in #74:....As already posted you can safely ignore any insurer that tells you that your insurance is void if you have no MOT.......
The FOS has ruled that such conditions are unenforceable.....
The FOS trumps anything your insurer is being cloudy about.0 -

"....As already posted you can safely ignore any insurer that tells you that your insurance is void if you have no MOT......."
You are talking to a very very small number of people here, not the majority who have no clue and will accept what their insurer says.
You would be better doing an article for the major newspapers to get your message across0 -

You are talking to a very very small number of people here,
I am talking to the one person who keeps repeating the incorrect info in this thread.
Please have the decency to stand corrected and stand down!0 -
A reason why insurance is no longer checked when licensing a vehicle is that unless exempt, a registered vehicle is reqired to be insured - s.144A, Road Traffic Act 1988.
A vehicle that is licensed, but not insured is not exempt, and as the databases are regularly checked, a prosecution for not having insurance may be initiated without reference to the vehicle actually being seen or used uninsured.0 -
I saw this linked in another thread, but I think it is apt for BG here:

I gave him that link 47 posts prior - post #33! :rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
