Ok so I have made a 2nd payment to Iresa which should now show my account in credit and have reinstated the DD as requested by them. Phone Iresa on the freephone number stating I had done all this and they have put a note on my account to advise payment made and not to deny switch. They asked me to phone new company to request switch again which I have now done. Fingers and toes crossed that this is the last hurdle.0

When I put monthly readings in last night, I noticed that " Iresa have appointed BlueSky Metering as our new meter read agent. They will be contacting customers on our behalf to obtain meter readings from those who have not submitted any in the last six months."
Wonder if this is another move driven by OFGEM to reduce estd. bills ie did they have anybody visiting customers to read meters previously ?? I certainly haven't seen a meter reader in a considerable time.
EDIT Over 2 years since a meter reader cometh!0 -

The requirement for suppliers to read domestic meters every two years was dropped by Ofgem in April 2016. Suppliers now have to obtain a meter reading once every 12 months; however, Ofgem does not prescribe how such a meter reading is to be obtained. If consumers are providing monthly meter readings and these are being validated by the data collectors in line with historical usage data then there is no need to send out a person to read the meter. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. This appears to be more serious that a simple extension of an existing banning Order. It’s difficult to see how any business that has now lost 6 months worth of new customers in 18 months; which in the past has offered market-leading prices, but has had numerous complaint referrals to The EO for poor customer service can stay in business. Time will tell. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

...I understand that....but if customers who have not provided a meter reading in the last couple of years, try to leave, they will currently be stopped if they are in debt ,however small and if they are in credit...well, there have been enough stories of customers waiting forever to get their money back:(0 -

The meter reading company chosen by Iresa seems to have been in business for 3 months.
Quote: BlueSky currently offers partially qualified engineers who are able to repair faulty smart meters, replace sim cards, modems and aerials, take data downloads, undertake meter inspections and obtain meter readings. We also aim to gain MACOPA registration and employ fully trained duel fuel engineers by quarter three of 2018 Unquote
An interesting choice. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Wonder if Blue Sky are going to try to persuade people to take SMETS meters? IRESA don't seem to be trying in my experience.0
