Yay, I've just had my final bill from Iresa.
Switched on 23rd Feb. I never bothered to contact them about final bill, just left them to it because I was in credit & DD stopped anyway so money was not going to be a problem
I'm now owed £20 in credit and wonder how long it will be before I see that
I know I could phone but I'm content to let it ride for a bit, seems Iresa do get round to it eventuallyGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
Wow, massive improvement in Iresa. They've responded to the message I sent in October. They've forwarded it to another department.0

103 days assuming that by switch you mean the date of transfer? Standard Supply Licence Conditions require suppliers to use their reasonable efforts to issue a Final Bill within 6 weeks of a transfer of supply. Still waiting for our Final Bill from Iresa. We transferred on 24th February 2018 to Octopus, and Iresa confirmed they had received the verified closing meter reading on 12th March 2018.
When we applied to switch, we were slightly in credit (less than £1) so Iresa did not object; but by the time the switch completed we know that we owe them about £30 for electricity used during a cold February.
I suppose they will get round to asking for it sometime!0 -

Yes, check it every couple of weeks to see if there is an update. Cancelled the Direct Debit on 24th April, after giving them 2 months; plenty of time to claim the outstanding balance.
They confirmed the DD had been cancelled, but still no final bill!0 -
Slightly different...
We eventually managed to switch away from Iresa in February after several objections from them.
The claim was were were in debit on electricity, but did not take into account we were well in credit on gas.
The gas credit more than covered the small electricity debit.
After several emails, which were auto acknowledged, but no action taken, the last resort was to phone them.
Oh what fun!
No. 112 in the queue.
I stuck with it and eventually spoke to someone, who sorted it and moved some of the credit to cover the deficit.
I then cancelled my direct debit, which they were not to happy with.
I offered by email to settle on receipt of any final bill if they would send my their bank details.
The final bill was calculated and received in March, (I owe £37) but as yet, despite two emailed requests for their bank details, they have not responded.
I have not complained!
lolI started out with nothing and I still have most of it left!0 -
The "bill" for May is now available ,but no email notification received.0

I know there has been some bad publicity recently regarding Iresa Energy but I want to share my experience after going to court and WINNING!
It all started when Iresa Energy was the new kid on the block and cheapest on the MSE energy club comparison website. There wasn't much known about them at the time so I decided to switch.
About 6 months in and I was about £300 in credit so decided to ask for a refund of £200. Now let me tell you now, under no circumstances can you ever ring Iresa as they do not answer the phone regardless of what time you ring. You have to use this messaging service and all you get is 'It has been passed onto the relevant department'. Never to hear anything again regarding a refund I reported them to the Energy Ombudsman.
I left Iresa in October 2017 and was £220 in credit. I kept asking for my money and they kept refusing saying they had not received meter readings from my new supplier 'OVO Energy'. After speaking to Ovo they told me they had informed Iresa on 3/10/2017. Iresa then just did the usual of ignoring my correspondence for my refund.
At the end of December 2017 I informed Iresa that they had 14 days to give me my refund or i would take them to the small claims court. I got the standard 'it has been passed onto the relevant department' Now to cut a long story short I took Iresa to the small claims court and obtained a County Court Judgment against them. They refused to respond so I called in the bailiffs. Last week (6 months after taking action) I received the full amount owed to me plus all my court costs!
The funny thing was that during the process they sent a 'NEW' bill stating i was only owed £150. Mmmmmm You don't have to be a mathematician to work out from my previous bills and meter readings that this was incorrect. My advice is DO NOT GET BULLIED by these big companies and do not put off going to the small claims court. It was my first time and the process is easy and everything is done online.0 -
