Has anyone *not* switching away cancelled their direct debit? I estimate my credit will cover my usafe for 10 months and they refuse to lower the DD.

So Iresa eventually agreed to my switch to Pure Planet. I have received my email from Pure Planet asking for my first meter readings, they say they will send them over to my old supplier and this can take six weeks.

My question is, during those six weeks who am I paying my Energy to, is it Iresa or Planet.

I have enough credit on my Iresa account to pay up to today’s readings, if that is me finished with Iresa, and should I now cancel my Iresa Direct Debit?

Well, after deliberating the past 2 or 3 weeks I finally decided and RENEWED with Iresa!
Despite my other post about Iresa vs Tonik quote.
These are my reasons, in no particular order.
YES, it has been very difficult to contact these last 12 months.
Only needed to contact once in last 12 months, and they DID NOT REPLY TO MY TICKET AT ALL, but THEY DID SOON RESOLVE MY ISSUE without telling me!!
HOWEVER, this afternoon, only a 19 caller freephone queue (50+ a week ago!) and answered after about 30 minutes of pleasantish music on hold by a very polite and knowledgeable Ahmed.
HE answered my questions precisely and promised to email them as confirmation.
This he DID ACTUALLY DO within minutes.
He FULLY confirmed answers to my questions within this email.
He explained that my new tariff price would be based on my previous use rates, of which I am VERY HAPPY! He DID point out that if my use INCREASES or DECREASES that only then would they adjust my DD.
This to me is a very fair response from them as a business, and YES I have copied and pasted everything into my personal IRESA folder for future reference if ever needed.
12 months ago, by joining IRESA I wondered if I had jumped from the frying pan into the fire to then be extinguished with boiling water!!
No doubt, there will be doubters reading this, but IF you study EVERY OTHER supplier, there are always problems and complaints.
I AM PREPARED to give IRESA another chance. Their charges so far are frankly unbeatable.
DO NOT BELIEVE everything that you read when looking for comparisons.
BTW, ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION WITH IRESA, other than as a (reasonably) satisfied customer these past 12 months.

  • I left a month ago, waiting for my refund. My credit dropped from £190 to £20 when they used the correct meter readings (my final readings from my new supplier). I've been sending them meter readings since I joined as they request, but they still estimated every bill.

I transferred from Iresa at the beginning of May 2107 - yes, almost a year ago. After threatening to take Iresa to Court, I finally got my credit balance back. Today, I have received 2 e-mails telling me to log in to my online account. The two accounts show a credit balance of just under £200. I doubt that even an accountant from one of the Big 4 could sort out the financial mess that is Iresa!!!8217;s billing system.

Final bills emailed today - 7 weeks after switching supplier. Not expecting credit back any time soon.

Unless you submit meter reads on the last day of the month, and not on receipt of their e-mail, you will be billed to an estimate on the last day of the month as will many other of the small suppliers (such as the perfect example of how an energy company should be run) Zog.

I left 6 months ago, final bill (refund) was settled in November.

Just had an email telling me my 'new bill is ready to view'.

Probably just a glitch. The online account doesn't show any activity since October (although it does snow non-zero balances for some reason). Will have to keep an eye on this though.

When the balloon finally bursts, this mess is going to take some sorting out.

I'm still waiting for a final bill from August 2017. Not bothered with the delay though as I owe them £200 because I stopped my direct debit before I moved out. Hopefully they will go out of business before they manage to send me a final bill.
