For those who have stuck with them -How have IRESA handled the changeover from Flex 4 to Flex 5? Have they estimated the meter read at changeover date ,and ,if so, how accurate was their estimate ??
My contract ended on 3rd March but no charges for March have yet appeared.0 -
'My' experience of Iresa (hope its not shared by too many others...)
Moved to them, and stayed for around 5 months.
They rarely produced an invoice, and when they did they were usually wrong.
Never replied to any of my queries.
I went over a month unable to even connect to my account.
So I switched to another company.
They did not/could not produce any invoices, and did not reply to my requests for over 6 months after I left them!
Went to Ombudsman, and Iresa finally replied to me a few weeks later.
They produced final invoices, and refunded me outstanding balances - all about 7 months after I left the company!
BUT....the final invoices they produced are WRONG !
They have double-charged me !
The opening balance on the final invoice is 'before' the closing balance of the previous invoice.
Not sure if/how I will ever get this over-charge back.
Have written to Iresa (but their history of replying is terrible), and also the Ombudsman.
Will probably call the latter soon.
But not sure how much I can be bothered to keep chasing.
(For reference: whilst this is by far the worst switch I have had, it is by no means the only issue I have had when switching. I have raised in other threads that it is dis-ingenuous for MSE, and other sites, to claim that 'switching is easy'. I have repeated that the action of initiating the switch IS easy and quick, requiring just a little information and a few mouse clicks. BUT....dealing with all the admin, and chasing etc... relating to tidying up the previous account can take weeks and months.....)There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't!0 -

Smooth changeover reading shows on account.............for what it's worth I've been with over a year now for electric only and never had a problem
I enter readings on last day of month so bills are accurate and haven't had to contact them by phone or ticket0 -
I gave them a meter read on 30 Jan for Flex3 and EOM on 31 Jan for Flex5 and bill for end Jan was correct to my reads and dates, 30 days on old and 1 on new. I was shocked ! Still not upped my DD to cover the increase though, now running in debit.0

Still waiting for refund following switch on the 24/2/18. Will leave it a few more weeks as only £70 odd pounds but better in my account than theirs.0

I'm amazed they produced you a final bill within the 6 weeks permitted; they must be improving :T
Most suppliers will say it takes at least a couple of weeks thereafter to receive any refund due on that final bill ... and I wouldn't expect Iresa to be any quicker.0 -
Took me over 6 months to get a refund, and then, only after the Ombudsman had stepped in!There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't!0

How do you know the poster I quoted has not had a final bill yet?
He won't get any money back until he does get a final bill. Perhaps he has worked it out for himself, but the supplier isn't a mind reader.0 -

My switch was completed on 23/02/18 and 27 days later I phoned up to confirm switch had taken place. Asked for my final bill to be produced. It was the following morning and by 6pm that day the money was in my bank.
Only advice I can give is phone them up on the freephone number and sit on hold.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds0
