:rotfl: You both made me laugh. There seems to be a glut of elderly kitchens out there.:rotfl:

I was so overwhelmed by boy sock sorting that I binned the lot and bought them lots of identical pairs (grey for one, Black for the other) so matching was simple. The tyranny of character socks has long since left the building. Quite liberating actually. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Oh and I also have a non kitchen . Hey ho, sounds like I am not alone...
It is great you sound so motivated and positive but small and steady wins the day (I think that is the name of a diary on here)If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Blimey I need to start focussing. I've been so focussed on trying to declutter everything else has gone by the wayside.:o
I have been doing bits but needed lots of rest inbetween. I'm sick to death of feeling kn@ckered all the time but not much I can do.
Apart from the cupboard from hell and my draws the bedroom is now clutter free. I may do my draws tonight but can't access the cupboard at the moment.
I've been thinking about life in general. I need to try to get back to work because I'm bored and skint. I did a benefits check with Macmillan but am entitled to nothing. I was a very unhappy bunny last week. I've worked since I was 14 but I guess it's selfish to think I should get some help when needed after paying in all these years. Sorry I know sarcasm is not an attractive trait but it makes me feel better.
Anyway the chemo has caused neuropathy in my hands and feet. I can't do anything which involves fine motor skills so the sewing is off the table at the moment. If the feeling does ever come back I'm going to focus on it as a hobby and enjoy it rather than cause more pressure with the business idea. Maybe in the future but for now......
I'm trying to refocus on money and the house primarily. I'm sick of living like I do and plan to change this for the better. I used to be so creative and frugal but have lost my mojo. Perhaps a creative/frugal challenge daily may help. I did paint the wall with some testers and have chose a colour. I may paint this week. It's going to take a few days to do the room (It used to take a couple of hours), but I will feel better. I will give it a good vacuum tomorrow and wipe down the woodwork in preparation.
Tuesday I have more chemo (6 thrilling hours of joy) and come Friday it will hit me and I will be wiped out for 3 or 4 days. Then I will start picking up again.
Sorry if this is a bit of a grumbling post but I'm feeling very frustrated at the moment.
Right I'm going to go and unblock the drain again and put the washing on the airer to dry. Such glamour.;)
Have a fab day.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

You sound understandably very frustrated. If there is no support from benefits try talking to your employer. If you have exhausted any company sick pay and you have moved onto statutory sick pay or run out of SSP then they may make a discretionary payment because of your condition. It's not unusual to do that in education, and sometimes big employers have discretionary welfare funds The other thing you should ask about, particularly if you have been unpaid or on SSP is holiday pay. I think you are on equated pay from what you have said before, but if you have had periods unpaid then you have also been deducted equated holiday pay. If you ask, they may pay it.
Hope this helpsMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks redo. I will ask.
Sometimes things seem a little unfair at times. I guess I don't know how to play the system.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Sorry you're feeling so wiped out and tired Parsnip. I know chemo is very draining from when my sister had it. It's a shame you're not entitled to any benefits, it does seem unfair and the last thing you want now is to worry about money
.
Try and rest though and do things at your own pace, rather than getting frustated at the things you want to do. Once you've finished the chemo you'll have far more energy to do things. Easy to say I know, and not so easy to do. You do sound as if you've got a lot of decluttering done though, so well done for that.
I hope Redo's advice can help you to claw a bit of money from your employer.
It's really nice to see you posting and good luck with your decorating.

Are you claiming ESA and PIP?
ESA is for those who cant work and PIP is for those who have a disability that affects general life so 2 completely separate benefits.
ESA contribution based is for people who have paid enough NI contributions which you have and PIP is not means or NI tested.0
