Not sure if you remembered that I am a Benefits Adviser as part of my job so I like to think I know the benefits system!!!0 -
Having had 12 years experience of working with benefits, I agree with the wise grey one. I know entitlement can change but definitely submit claims. Also, feel free to come on here and grumble. At least you’ve something worth grumbling about. Take up the offer of help from EE to see what you can do about money.
Sorry to hear about the peripheral neuropathy. My dad has this with his chemo and I know he found it really unpleasant - he wore leather gloves a lot of the time to avoid accidentally touching/being touched by something that would be painful, and it also helped stop his hands getting too hot or cold. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much that helps with it. Hopefully it will improve over time.0 -
I don't have any advice I'm afraid, just happy to see you posting.
I'm sorry things are tough. I hope things improve and sending positive vibes into the universe. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Eager elephant, I'm not entitled to ESA apparently. I don't know why as I've worked for years. Perhaps I should check again. I've applied for PIP but I don't hold out much hope to be honest.
I'm really going to try to post daily to keep me sane as I have found I'm slipping into a sea of nothingness with no structure in my life at the moment. I need a big kick up the @rse.;)

I think structure in your day is very important. I couldn't cope without my daily to do list and coming on here keeps me accountable. Plus people on here are so kind and knowledgeable.

I've never been so disorganised in my life. It's driving me a bit mad to be honest.
I'm going to spend this afternoon sorting the sewing room/dumping ground as the bay roof is still leaking and we really need to get someone in to look at it. I couldnt possibly take someone in there the way it is.

Who told you this?
Have you actually made a claim and been refused?
Could you PM me your postcode or one nearby but in your district and I will get you details of how to claim (its different depending on if you are in a Universal Credit area or not)
Everyone I know either through personal or work life gets PIP if they have cancer, PIP do at least understand that its not a short term thing whether you are in recovery or not.0 -
EE my SIL has cancer, been going on 5 years, bowel, then lung then liver. He was refused PIP and refused again at the tribunal. Seems so wrong, especially when the chemo leaves them with more problems.I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy0 -

Does your SIL have a Macmillan Nurse? Usually one supporting letter from them is enough.
Too be fair on the PIP form they ask your consultant to confirm that you have cancer and that is usually enough to get it for a minimum of 2 years depending what type and stage.
How long ago was he refused? I would be applying again although I appreciate the stress is sometimes not worth it.0
