The end of procrastination and disorganisation.......

Wow PH you're sounding really positive, which is brilliant.
They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, so your single step is going to the charity shop.!
So much of what you feel/say resonates with me(procrastination isn't my middle name... it's my first name.
Hope you have a successful weekend. XI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy0 -
Thanks hairy hand and crystal.
I have just returned from the charity shop and after three trips across the road and Ive offloaded a lot of DS's old clothes and toys. I still have his baby clothes though as I just can't get rid yet. I did donate one of his first Christmas gifts, the thing I was going to struggle with but........I did it and I'm still here.
I'm going to go through some of his younger clothes soon and more toys.
This is HUGE for me as i emotionally attach to everything. I was so proud of DS though as he handed over a toy himself too.
For the first time in six months I have a completely empty car boot.:j:j:j.
I have made the first step and now see I can continue.:)1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Congratulations on emptying the car boot!
Work were doing a charity collection this week as volunteers were helping out in local CSs, so all the stuff that has been waiting to go (but hasn't as the place I drop stuff off isn't open on weekends) plus a quick wardrobe cull was handed over. Then today a friend brought me some rubble (I'm using it to improve the flow of water in the stream) and I sent her away with my old kitchen lights and two coat hooks. It's so nice to know the stuff has gone. And importantly, because I was pushed for time, I got rid of things I hadn't worn without having a debate about the fact that they may come in useful at some point...
I wish you lived nearer. I have a LOT of sewing work that needs doing. Mostly remaking curtains and blinds, which isn't very exciting, but still needs doing!0 -
You are doing ridiculously well Parsniphead.
I love the idea of doing one brave thing a day. Just think at the end of a year 365 things you pushed yourself to achieve :T
I also keep rethinking the things I put off until some life event like retirement or reduced working and I ask myself is there a way to do X now!
I really think I need to find a way to make NOW the time for everything
You are inspiring me. Thank you :TIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Go Parsnip! Well done for getting that lot to the charity shop, as Flylady has it, your things are going to bless someone else (probably more than one as charities are generally about making life better for people so not only the object but also the money raised could be bringing happiness).
What is it with charity donations and cars? Things get to the car and no further... 'Twas a brave thing you did today and you are broadening your horizons with every brave step.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Thanks cherry. It will be so much easier to do the shopping on Wednesday with an empty boot.
My brave thing today is to catch up on some paperwork. I don't why I have been putting it off and it's been concerning me for two months.:o Why didn't I just do It?
I have some leeks to put in and I would also like to spend at least two hours on the house to continue with the big clear out.
I also need to check my finances. I would like to pay off some more of the debt but think it's going to be impossible. Perhaps a small payment.
Today I will end the day closer to my goal than I started it (if DS doesn't do another four million drawings and scatter then around the house again:eek:).1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Go and get that paperwork done and then it'll be out of the way and stop worrying you (I'm sure something else will come up to take over, but still...)
I have a lot of garden stuff to do as I'm off on a long work trip at the end of this week and need everything done before then. And I'm slightly concerned that my expenses this month might be bigger than my CC limit, so need to look at paying off whatever is outstanding before I leave on Friday, even if they won't be reimbursed until the end of the month.
Can you persuade DS that there's a special place to put his pictures so they all end up in the same place? There might still be 4 million of them, but at least they'll be together. My mum has a couple of giant pinboards and when she has the kids staying she sets them up at the 'art gallery' for all artwork to go on...0 -

Thank you greenbee, INOD and abba. It was a joy to shop yesterday and be able to put shopping in the boot.
I've been missing for a day or two, just pottering on My Fitness Pal and also fighting the urge not to throw my emergency and bay roof fund at the debt. I need to remember to keep calm. BUT I WANT IT GONE SO MUCH .
Anyway calm, calm. I have some payments coming in which can be forwarded to the debts ........but.....
