Would you be thrilled that your husband (or wife) to be bought you a lovely new kitchen as a wedding present for you ?

Think that one will join the ranks of the dead dog, subway meatballs, and exchanging vouchers while your wife is giving birth
:rotfl:First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I'd like a new kitchen for both of us to use - but the thought of it being a wedding present for me only, would be a non starter!
I particularly liked the devastation and embarrassment of the wife because her pots and pans were on show!:rotfl:Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
Maybe her wedding present to him was a years membership on match.com, so he can find himself a new wife when she finally manages to pick the locks and escape the kitchen?0

I'd rather have that than jewelry or perfumes or other tat.
In fact my 40th birthday present is a brand new kitchen. I couldn't be happier but then it's what I've always wanted0 -
I can't help but pity them both :undecided..him for his choice of 'wedding present'..and her for thinking that was ok:eek:
Sounds like a match made in heaven :think:0 -
Buying a kitchen is going to add value to the property. If the relationship goes downhill the person giving the gift is going to benefit by the sale of the house including the kitchen....so in my opinion it's not a gift at all.
A gift is something you can take with you and is not included in any divorce proceedings. You can't take a kitchen.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

(I'm marrying a girl from yorkshire.)
Three friends married women from different parts of the world.
The first man married a Greek girl.
He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.
The second man married a Thai girl.
He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.
The third man married a girl from Yorkshire.
He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table every day. The first day he didn't see anything. The second day he didn't see anything either. But by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down, he could see a little out of his left eye and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher. He still has some difficulty when he urinates.0 -
