"My wedding present to my wife was a lovely new kitchen"

Nope. We've been married for 32 years and the only 'gifts' that changed hands were the rings.0

We're having a new kitchen and bathroom installed. It's OH's property alone, but he's leaving everything completely to me. I told him it's his house and he should choose but he says he's doing it for me and so I'm to choose absolutely everything. He says as long as it's practical then he'll go along with whatever I want.
I think if she's been given that kitchen she's lucky- trying to choose a kitchen is so difficult!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
My hubby bought me a bike for an engagement present which I thought was marvellous. Our kitchen cost £16k so it would be an incredibly generous gift.0

Should I kick up a fuss because 26 years ago I got zilch?0

Definitely! I think an eternity ring or new kitchen is due! I got a bracelet on my wedding day, and a card with a lottery ticket. My DH calls my kitchen my "office". Halarious. Really need an eye roll emoji!0 -
I would love a new kitchen.
Only if I could choose it though.0 -
A new kitchen would be a fantastic gift, my wife bought me some new kitchen aid attachments as a wedding gift, I bought her a wii.0

I don't particularly want to get married but if OH offered to do the kitchen as a wedding gift then I'd be up the aisle quicker than a Z-list celebrity with a contract with 'Hello' magazine0

Presents between spouses are an interesting case. If they share finances, then the financial aspect of the present is shared too. To my thinking that makes the thought, time and organisation the main aspect of the present. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
