PSL can understand the drinks out thing , when I worked in a city centre many moons ago , it was taken that we went out from work quite often , sometimes a nightclub, getting home in the early hours. I would just be choosy what invites you accept , perhaps your friends only. At my work they don't ask me anymore about going out! .
Having your hair done makes you feel better .
Keep going , one day you will make the finishing line and be debt free . We are all different and do it in our own way. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
On track today and yesterday. Tommorow is low/no spend.
Tuesday out for dinner and possible sainsbury but otherwise low spend.
Have very little spare money this month so going for real low spend. Going to keep track and post up each week in headings each Friday.
Today NSD
Yesterday spent £22 in Lidl - but £9 of this was on steak (which I know is a luxury but as a low meat eater steak is quite important for iron levels) £2 ice Cream and rest vegetables and fruit and will get eaten.
Feel like I have well stocked cupboards, fridge and freezer and Everything is easier once the kitchen is in order, washing is done and flat is tidy and clean.
Work is quite stressful at the moment, we are not too busy but far too many politics and spending lots of time saying office-friendly things that I don't mean, which is exhausting but essential to get on and keep harmony as much as possible. Working with lots of people I would choose to distance myself from in life!
And trying to stay on track study wise which means that it's hard to find time to post lots - and nothing too positive or exciting to say either!
But loan goes to £600 on Wednesday which is highlight of the week.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

Meant to say thank you both. The expected spend of social just from work is out of control. It would be the norm to get home in the small hours and it's regular competiton between colleagues of "who got home the latest". It's so silly! I do not want that to be my life. Even people In the late 30s with children and partners are buying into this culture and feel they need to be "out" as much as possible or their life as they know it will all be over.
So I'm doing 1 work thing and that will need to be enough.
I think as long as I live I won't understand it.
My hair looked so terrible last week, it does look so much better now it's been done but honestly couldn't have looked worse. As vain as it might be- it does make a difference.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

Just caught up. Glad everything is going in the right direction and the loan will be gone before you know it.
I'm quiet lucky I don't have to say no to work colleagues, I work every friday/Saturday evening so never actually been asked. Enjoy the nights out that you do go on, you still need some you time.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

I second the 'stop buying magazines' - having been in hospital and off sick recently, various people have bought me magazines and what a load of rubbish they are! Total drivel. I'd rather keep my £2-5 and buy a bottle of cheap wine!
£600 loan left!!!! That's fabulous though!
Stay strong x0 -
Hey PSL, that's great news about the loan, nearly gone!!
Totally agree with the work social thing, especially when there are lots of office politics about! I cut myself off last year from too many work drinks (although helped that I moved to the middle of nowhere and now have to drive to station). I just found that when work was stressful with lots of office politics and you go ou with colleagues you just talk/rant about work and it all just becomes a bit toxic. Much better for me to just draw a line under the day and get home to my sanctuary!! Nice to go out from time to time but now everyone expects me to not come or not drink so pressure is off!
Hope this week goes well for you- counting it down to payday on Fridayxx

Best friend is on some meds and can't drink, avoiding work social. Other friends working a lot, not going to London at the weekend and suddenly I'm not wasting money down the drain which is a bit of a revelation.
But it will be a long month and will need to work hard to get to the next payday (where loan goes to £450).
Stay strong I think is the theme Louby.
But no big expenses on the horizon but life itself is expensive.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

Life is expensive! Especially trying to have some semblance of a life and not just sitting in all the time... although even then there's food to buy and heating to turn on  You're doing really well!June 2017: owe £16,818.
June 2018: owe £13,263.0 -
Thank you Dion.
It is easier to stay in lots really given how bad things have become and also that end of October isn't that far away if I only have to be this bored And boring in the short term.
I realised this morning actually for various reasons all of the individuals I spend most money with are busy/on hol/buying houses/ got new boyfriends and so really things should be more aligned to be on my side at least for the moment.
Very close friend has similar spending habits to me but has a husband so it is easier for her to spend lots as they combine finances- But her intentions are the same as mine. It's just hard in London and (not that it's an excuse) but all this terrible news that is everywhere makes you think life is short and it can be over so quickly.
