  • Thanks Verbatim. I get so focused on not spending I always forget to wish everyone good weekend (and sometimes I think this is only helping me - well and sometimes it doesn't even stretch to that)

The final BT is m and s long deal 32 months 0% But it's not 1% repayment like all the others. It seems to be 2.8%
It's the final BT. And I won't look to do any more. Hoping when I need it - when the time arrives the card I have Paid off in full will send me a BT offer so won't need any more cards as I have a lot.
No more loans or cards for me.

  • It's horrible Dolly! Far too much and no relief for ages. I am going to ask for tommorow off work- it's very quiet right now after the business of May.

Had very MSE weekend which shows me that I CAN DO IT when I need to. Only spent £10 in wilko on house/cleaning/bubble bath.

1 week to payday. Resisting pub invites. Sitting at home in hardly any clothes eating ice cream and drinking water and hoping the heat will shift. Need to have a quiet week then continue once payday comes (as I have some clothes in online basket ready for payday to be bought) so need to keep an eye on spending to accommodate.

Going to food plan a bit more. It's easier in the summer when you eat summer things but harder in winter when you get more hungry and more fussy.

  • I'm just gonna have a snickers ice cream to see if that helps!

Oh sometimes if you log in & leave stuff in your basket companies email you with a wee offer so fingers crossed!

  • 4 month Loan Plan
    28/06/17 £153.21 payment down to £600
    28/07/17 £153.21 payment down to £450
    28/08/17 £153.21 payment down to £300
    28/09/17 £153.22 payment down to £150
    30/10/17 £154.22 payment - loan paid off

After this will reassess in the new year and work to pay off 1 of the cards.

It's so boring paying back money. I feel like I am the most bored person on the planet.

Hi PSL hope you are feeling cooler now .

How is everything ticking along this week?

  • Well it's not going very well Cumbria - but I am not doing anything social till Tuesday so don't need to spend any more money from bank account till payday.
But I have spent a bit getting hair done and this month was very social.

July is not going to be the same. Already declined 3 invites. Not sure how many more will come.
Somehow if you work in centre of London it has become the norm to have "birthday drinks" with colleagues. These are always expensive and on top of "leaving drinks" and "team drinks" and "office drinks" and the overall culture to socialise and foster working-together-well within the office.
The problem is the company doesn't pay for all of these and doesn't pay enough for non managers to be able to afford them all.
Sometimes I think people I work with must have very little going on outside the office in order to be available and able to afford all of the office events. I've started going to very little and pretending to be busy.
Some of my colleagues are real-life friends and I love them but beyond this it's mostly it's an expense I don't need.
So avoiding all of that as far as possible.

    Payday next week.
Loan reducing to £600 which feels really brilliant but I'm not in a position to pay off anything more as I am a bit overdrawn and need to deal with that as a priority. As much as I would like to bash away the loan as soon as possible.

I haven't before, but I am going to give the card I have paid off to my dad. He knows me well enough to know that I am the least sensible of us with money so hopefully this won't worry him too much and won't bring on a lecture. Mostly they do say that they are here if I need them. But I can't bear to let them know about any of this. £1000 would concern them and mean they wouldn't sleep never mind £15,000.
He might think best to not tell my Mum which is probably for the best. I just need to return a dress I am too fat for then giving to him until at least January.

Taking lunch in next week except Thursday when I am going out with a friend but depending on weather could bring lunch in and take out rather than eat in somewhere.
Lunch out and after work drinks are massive problem areas for me as well as buying magazines which make me believe I "can't live" a normal life without the sold-out must have beauty products which are £35 a go.
So in today, family tommorow, work Monday lunch in, then home. Then out Tuesday night, low spend, possible no alcohol, Wednesday lunch in then home.

Have been at home a bit watching a lot of films and telly. And all the new music from my one free music channel.
It is so mundane and so boring paying back money.
It's all about sticking to the rules which seriously goes against the grain.

So going to Lidl with cash then home for the day to focus on studying which needs some serious attention.
Trying very hard but getting there slowly.

  • Hey PSL sorry it's been a long while just caught up on this page of your diary. Glad your still moving forwards. I've been feeing a bit alone in my debt mission as I've stoped reading others diaries but needed to feel not like the only one trying so I will make an effort to check in more often.

The holiday question is soooo annoying! I know you say you don't want one but I do I would kill for a holiday but have to keep answering with no were just trying to save right now. It's such a long and slow process paying it all back.....I guess we need to be paying off faster than we spent it so we are actually living on twice less disposable income!. Does that make sense? Can't wait for my debt free day so I can actually spend money without feeling guilt!

Again with the event invites it's hard isn't it when you hear others off splashing the cash but for all you know they are going on cc's and one day bam they will be in the situation we are now!

I have a bucket list and on it is be debt free (bar mortgage) so I keep reminding my self while friends are off completing their lists with gig tickets or amazing holidays etc. This is just a stage I'm in and once I have completed this check point I can carry on with the fun points on my list. We'll get there!!!

You are soooo close to the end date on the loan! That is massive!!! Let's not wish the summer away but hurry up October!!

Right sorry for having a random rant on your post. Keep going your doing great. Xx

  • Oooh I forgot to say mag's are evil overpriced marketing aimed to make your feel inadequate and spend money to make your self feel better. Stop buying them now I promise you will feel so much better about yourself and not need to keep buying all those exspensive beauty products. I challenge you to drink an extra litre of free tap water a day and within a week your skin will be better than after any exspensive toner! ://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9uxvYw8Qvi8
