keep going PSL. As you can see from my diary, I was in lots of debt at your age and am now (apart from mortgage(s) debt free. Also have 3 properties (albeit with mortgages but also with plenty equity) between B and I. You've bought your place which is a massive thing - it will probably go up in value over time (particularly if outskirts of london??) and as someone else said, every mortgage payment you make is like saving as you are paying back some of the capital.
Are you on the best interest rate you can get mortgage wise? Can you look at changing that or are you fixed in?
Keep chipping away at the debt. And if you have a bad day, week or month, don't think all is lost - a bit like a diet - take stock and start again x0 -
I can't save any money on the mortgage. But it is slowly coming down.
I just need to learn how to not spend money and be restrained.
At the end of July the Loan will be £450 and this is quite motivating. (Obviously other debts come down too but not as fast as the loan as the £150 is a massive payment)
If this amount was on 1% payment credit card the minimum payment would be £7. I hope I never have to have another loan ever as the last few months feel quite painful on this.
Last payment date is 28th October but I plan to pay off early by 1 or 2 months so it's not here that long.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

I saw on one of your earlier posts about hummus. I make this
http://www.jamieoliver.com/news-and-features/features/best-basic-houmous-recipe/
Except I use dried chickpeas (cook a whole bag at a time and either make it all in to hummus and freeze) or freeze the chickpeas I don't turn in to hummus and then use them in cooking or hummus at a later date. Works perfectly well, tastes nicer and so much cheaper than shop bought.
Hope it helps a little.0 -
Thank you very much Purple Fairy.
I always buy it and forget to eat it. So think if I make it myself I won't forget.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

June is a very hard month spending-wise.
The Sainsbury's card has gone down to £3000 and the 0% ends in September next year. When this does end I will have about £1500 still to be paid but will need to balance transfer this as the interest is just under 30%.
Need to have a quiet rest of month.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

That's plenty of time for you to organise a good switch deal to a 0%
Dxxx0 -
You will def be able to get an interest free deal in that time
Good luck with your spendy month, I am aiming for a no spend 4 weeks....not sure how this will go lol xx
Starting debt £18,675.63
Current debt: £5,000 (16/05/18)0 -
A no spend 4 weeks is hard. If you put milk in the freezer, cancelled All social and planned to come home every day after work and take lunch in you might make 2 weeks and then see how you feel. Good luck with the 4 Reality. Maybe mute the adverts on telly too. That helps me. If I see something on the tv I want it!
30% interest is quite eyewatering. I was thinking about that this week. Been exceedingly busy lately and now things are getting a bit calmer which is great.
30% interest at £1500 is £38 a month so will need to make a plan for that. But it's a bit far off yet.
Been more selective recently on choosing social things to go to. Had a nicer time as a result and more money so going to make sure this continues and not just going to everything I am invited to.
I know this is my issue but getting so annoyed about all the people asking me if I am going on holiday. People have no idea how annoying this question is.
I love clothes and cosmetics and I love living on my own so a holiday is absolutely not a priority!!
Just feels like another pressure, but one that isn't even actually important to me, just other people telling me. Got some time off coming up and planning on reading few books, seeing family and chilling out - but no this apparently isn't good enough unless I am getting on an aeroplane! Urgh!
On the way out of the overdraft - but slow progress.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

Today no alcohol.
Minimum spending.
No take away for tea.
Going out quickly then home.
Got £65 in purse and I think there is about £10 in the flat.
Going to parents tommorow. Should be no spend day but may have glass of wine depending on day. This heat is not agreeing with me tho so may skip that too.
Then home in the afternoon and possible No spending time with bff.
Then just one week to payday.
In July.
Mbn £4550 and £3535
San £2,900
Halo £1800
Lolly £1700
Loan £600
Last and final balance transfer £1000
End of July loan is £450 and this is exciting. It's just over 5 weeks before this is almost gone and 4 months until minimal payments reduce to £250.
After the loan.
The halo is the priority- but not urgent.
Got some time and will have some breathing space- and all at 0% for time being.
No more social happening in July. I have 2 good events in the calendar which I am looking forward to.
Had another frustrating conversation with a friend - she asked me to go see a band. Tickets are £80 (er no!) but also suggested going out for dinner as well. Made me instantly really angry- how many times do I need to explain about this situation. So annoyed. I feel like it's really disrespectful to keep inviting me to all these things even tho every time we speak I say I have no money!
I think Would have been.
Ticket £80
Dinner- London £30?
Drinks and food £50?
Too much for one day and even more than my loan payment. She still won't get it tho. I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed because it is so hot and the heat makes everyone a bit more sensitive. Even though we say we love it I do personally wish it would be a bit cooler.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.
