Well next door deciding to stick a metal decorative climbing thing in the middle of the hedge wasn't helpful, I discovered it 3/4 way through trimming the hedge when I caught it in the teeth of the hedge trimmer (grr) bent tooth has stopped work, I'm hoping Dh can straighten it as its almost new. Luckily she was out or she'd have heard the expletive I muttered while trying to free the screaming trimmer from it.
Have planted the front up with the flowers I got at the boot on Sunday so it's looking ok, just need to refill the bird bath as the blackbirds won't be happy if they can't have their daily dunk.
All sleepover guests have left and ds2 away to exam cramming lessons. Got to nip shops then will tackle the ironing.SPC~12 ot 124

Well I'm sitting here whimpering as Mr N has bravely put all our horse clutter in a huge plastic box and is driving it to the local horse rescue place. We've tried a couple of boot sales and some stuff just isn't shifting. It's not the money, it's all those memories - the only horse I owned; horses I loaned/rode for people; the donkey family I saved pennies to buy stuff for when I was 14, Mr N's horse (now happy in his 'new') home. But we're never going to have horses again; hopefully the charity will use or sell the items for the benefit of other horses and our garage is a whole lot bigger. We've just kept a couple of saddles...
Ok sorry for whingeing, back to my report. But it is a huge declutter.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Narco well done on letting go, I can understand how you feel it's a big step to release something that alough you know you will no longer be able to use it it meant a lot to you and is full of memories.
But the memories haven't left only the items and it is better that they go and be useful and bring the same joy to someone else than to risk dying in storage then just having to be binned.SPC~12 ot 124

Thanks, kind words.
I loved your hedgehogs! I don't often knit as I'm hopeless, but some I used to love for the cute factor and are really quick if I'm feeling like a charity knit are Baby Jane booties - you may have got the pattern but it is http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/baby-jane-bootiesRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Thank you, I've done similar but not that exact pattern.
Glad I didn't go out, guy has just come to replace the drain covers-a day early. Made him a coffee, now I'll get on with the ironing.SPC~12 ot 124

3 shiny new drain covers fitted, all ironing done, Dh fed and returned to work (mended the trimmer while he was here) ds2 back home from revision session and after his dad spoke to him about this morning he's staying out of my way and noises from upstairs indicate he is actually doing some tidying and room swap prep as instructed.
Im going to go and finish cutting the hedge and then do the watering.SPC~12 ot 124

It has been an expensive and rotten day here. DH came home having a panic attack after some trouble at work. My friend is losing her job.
On the bright side I dried 3x Wm outside
Eta just found out that cat has scratched up the carpet on the landing.0 -
DD is in bed
bless her, she's shattered. She doesn't do well after a late night... She didn't even protest.
DS Is having an early midnight feast lol and watching finding nemo.
Kitchen sorted after dinner. Man coming tomorrow for final measure and to make sure the design will work. We are having a day at home with plans for me to vac and dust all downstairs, iron the uniform that's been patiently waiting all week and we might sort the playhouse out.
Kids beds have been done this week but we can do some tidying too...Bossymoo
