  • Wig-thanks for that. A bit out of my budget. I read with interest what you said on the other thread about if its worth bothering with auctions. I've got up to £2500 to spend & will follow your advice & if I can find it ay private good price or less (after checking on wisebuyers!) I'll go for that.

Looking at a 1.4d (low tax/insurance). Yaris or 1.4i Fiesta seem best bets. been warned off older french cars due to electrics. Was looking at 206 1.4d but seems a lot of faults on them. Good choices do you think? Will try dealers as abit scared of private buying & can't afford an RAC inspection!
  • Thanks! Brighouse for me is just down road. I registered with BCA but only looked at the sale for 16/2. I guess cars of the age i want will be sold 'as seen' (if i want a fiesta or yaris diesel) so don't know if i'd risk it.. I think it'll be a bit soon for Monday but REALLY appreciate your help! Yaris seems to be good bets & I've found these for sale-all under or at private sale cost on wizebuyers. Are you in the trade Wig??! Could you give me your opinion if they're good offers? The green 58000 mile one seems GREAT value but am nervous as I'm not very good with cars-my mates who can help live 135 miles away!

  • Hi Guys n Gals,

I've just been looking at the BCA website and I've noticed that they've got a couple of Navaras for sale:

There's another one with the same spec but no photo:

    Bedford 05/03/12
    RegistrationAU07WZG Registration date29/03/2007

I'm wondering if anyone would have any idea what these would be likely to go for based on historic sales results. Wisebuyers gives the following:

    Retail: £10,030
    Private Good: £8,420
    Private Average: £7,530
    Private Poor: £6,580
    Part Exchange: £8,120
    Trade: £7,680

Any advice that anyone could offer would be gratefully received.
  • Hi everyone.

My first post but have been viewing the forum for some time and its been a godsend.

Been thinking about getting a new car now for a while and its finally time I got stuck into it. Been looking through this thread and its given me some really great advice I will take on board.

I have mainly been looking through the manahiem catalogues but just signed up to BCA and seen a few possible cars that would suit depending on price however I am unable to see what they have or will possibly sell for.

Please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

    Make: Audi
    Model: A4 S Line
    Body Type: Avant(estate) or Saloon
    Engine: 2.0TDI
    Reg: 58 Onwards (New Shape)
    Mileage: Any
    Location: Any
    Colour: Any
    Budget: £10,500 roughly

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks
  • Hi.

Thanks for the info Wig have looked around autotrader and ebay etc and it seems that there a little cheaper if I shop around. Unfortunately does'nt seem to be many around on private sale or they all want a silly price for them.

If I made a note of a few would you be able to see there sale price or should I just use the WiseBuyer link above to give a rough guide?.

    Thanks again.
  • Thanks Wig

That’s really great and thanks for the explanation I did think it was a couple of thousand over what I could see elsewhere. ;)

Quick question. Are you able to select more options at once when searching?. From the image you linked to you appear to have searched all S-Line variants (included auto, quattro etc) but it only allows me to search each type one at a time and such I only get back say 8-10 results.

Thanks for your help once again

    :T

    Much appreciated

It allows me to select as many derivatives as I like. As you said S-Line I selected all the 2.0 diesel derivatives that mentioned S-Line
    143 S Line,
    170 S Line
    quattro S Line
    M tronic S Line etc

Do you get to select only 1 derivative?
And do you get to see the pricing information? - you have to select "pricing" from the drop down "view" menu which is found next to the drop down "order results by" menu.
And was it free for you to register and search the catalog? Any limits to how many searches you can do with your free registration?
  • Hi Wig.

My registration was free and I believe this is why I am unable to do certain things.

I am only able to search one derivative at a time which is very annoying as the drop down menus at the top are terrible.

I am also unable to see prices.

Its a shame you cant get a month subscription or something similar to the online bidding process as there has been some nice cars I would of liked to of bid on but just cant justify having a day off and travelling to bid on one car. :(

    Thanks again for the info.

Still searching for an A4 but out of interest could you look for the below. :D

    Make: Audi
    Model: A5
    Body Type: Any
    Engine: 2.0TDI
    Reg: 57 Onwards
    Mileage: Any
    Location: Any
    Colour: Any

    Thanks again
  • Hello guys, just wondering if someone can get me some past sale prices for a car that I'm wanting to buy, possibly at auction. Would anyone be able to give me some details if I post up what car and trim etc...?

    Thanks very muchly.

    Mitch.
  • Hi I would greatly appreciate it if someone could post some auction prices for the following car.

Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec (Mk 2.5 facelift model), Petrol, 2008(08/58)/2009(09/59), around 30-40k mileage.

Silver would ideally be the colour.

Someone told me that you might be able to get this for around £5k-£5.5k at auction but I'm not sure and would like some evidence if possible.

    Thank you in advance.
