Neer been to an auction before, buying a Renault, could end in tears.

Stick to one owner ex company, only guaranteed mileage, only Full Main Dealer History.

You could be lucky at your budget, but I don't think you will get a 7 seater, maybe a smaller 5 seater Scenic.

You can find out about the costs, believe it or not, on the BCA website, there are no hidden costs, you pay your bid plus commission, which on a car of your budget makes your maximum bid more likely to be £3000, as commission and fees won't be far off £500.

    Hi All

I am considering attending BCA Notts or Derby looking for a Renault Grand Scenic. Why, because of any saving that could be made when compared to dealer

And, losted any PX deals on current car due to gearbox and engine damage.

In general terms, what would a 1.6/2.0 petrol, any trim, 7 seater, 05/06/07, no more than 35k on clock generally go for at auction.

And what are the hidden BCA costs I will be unaware of. My total budget is no more than £3500.

    Regs

Phone them up and they will tell you the guide prices of any cars in their auctions.

There is a good reason why they don't publish them (Manheim are the same). Shocked me when I first saw them. This is what I remember from when I was last there about a year ago:

    Catalogue - £4 each
Buyers Fee - approx £250-£300 for a car in your budget range
Payment Fee - Debit Card free. Credit card and cash payments incur a small % charge. IIRC, it was something like 2%
    V5 Fee - £25

Thankfully they don't charge for using the loos, customer parking or breathing in oxygen whilst there.

Buyers fees are displayed in a picture frame near the payment windows.

PS - Also check to see if the vehicle you have has road tax. Dealerships who take part-exs in normally cash in the tax disc as do fleets who are disposing their cars at the auction.

The only person that can cash in a roadtax disc is the registered keeper.

    No dealer does this anymore.

  • Hi, I wondered if anyone could help out with a few prices of recently sold vw T5 vans 2.5l any colour, under 80,000 miles. I'm thinking of going to an auction to get one but wanted to get some idea if it would really be worth it.
    Many thanks

Any ideas on what these would fetch at British car Auctions? I've looked everywhere & can't find auction results! The Fiesta has 30201 (& another one-2008 still-69836) on the clock & is condition 'c'.

The Yaris is 2008, condition c & has 59000 on it. Any ideas?

The last five around 43k miles of this spec averaged £4,806 43K 5+ so consider this one is higher miles, might be around the clean price
