Hi Happychappy and Wig, I wonder if you can help me with a search and some prices?

I am looking for a Volvo xc90 SE or executive D5, Diesel, Automatic, with less than 60k miles, and fSH if possible. Any colour but gold.

I am in Inverness so I suppose the most northerly auctions would be best, or one that you can buy online although I don't have an account yet.

Hi Honey

Sorry only two of the spec you want and both at Birmingham, I have copied in just for info as to price which as a ball park figure the clean price is not a bad guide. To bid online you need an account Im afraid, but best of luck.,

I dont have the super high tech knowledge of Wig, and thanks Wig :T for the link to the page capture download, I am still working on the software.

Hi H0ney (it's like talking to the wife)

I haven't got the auction experience of HC, Wig or some of the other people on here but from what I saw I wouldn't buy a car from auction without seeing it first. Some of the ones I saw were in shocking condition with a couple having to be towed through the hall.

Also I don't think it is possible to get an account that allows you to buy online unless you are a dealer.

I'm currently talking to Joe Dowd from www.auctioncarbuyer.co.uk regarding doing exactly that. He seem to be highly regarded by people including Honest John and so far the information seems good.

thanks mate. i went there today. nothing that i wanted, seems to be dearth of auto mondeos for some reason. will try again on friday as they have a few focus autos.

guess i will only look at log book held ones. will they give me the V5 right there and will have to rush to the post office to get the tax disc? i am a bit concerned about the logistics once i have paid for the car. what would you recommend? I understand i can leave the car for 24 hours for free in the car park.
