Cheers for that, with the currect climate and todays announcement I can only see things slipping further as more and more people start to tighten their belts. I'm in no hurry to buy but when I see the one I want I will grab it with both hands!! Thanks for the seach info which is very clear. I'll post nearer the time again. Cheers and thanks . RDG0

I know where the one is in Walsall as this would be my second choice having relations that live in Brownhills so just a stones throw from there0

I was at an auction where a lot of 207's went with couple with the panoramic roofs, they were going around 3-5k. If you want to know what cars are on tommorow, give them a call and they usually will tell you how many 207's are on for sale and the details etc and what time they will come on for the bid.
Thanks for that, no luck so far, but you never know

This is a long shot I know but here goes..........
I am looking for a Peugeot 207 5 dr with a panoramic roof. A friend has tipped me off that a fleet of 12 went to Manheim auction late last week.
I am guessing that some of these are going to be in tomorrow's Bristol closed auction (by virtue of the number of 207s due in the auction tomorrow)
I am also guessing that when they say "closed" they really do mean closed and only dealers can either bid or do the internet viewing thing?
Is there anyone out there who has access who can check if my guesses are right?
I know it's girly but as it's to share with my daughter my preference would be for a black one,
Can anyone help? as I said I know it's a long shot..
Many thanks,
A
You are right closed auctions are for the trade only, however it wouldn’t hurt for you to get in touch with Manheim, at Bristol they are very friendly and helpful in my experience and if you explain your situation they may be able to offer a solution, in the present climate everyone needs to be selling cars so the usual rules may not apply, the other solution is to attend and find someone who is there and in the trade who will buy the car on your behalf for a small commission, you will still save money on buying from a dealer but remember buying from an auction is sold as seen and you won’t get the same benefits of buying from a main dealer.
Hope this helpsMotor Trade Insider(google us)

thanks we contacted Manheim Bristol and they confirmed the auction was only available to Peugot dealers
Mind you with the economy going down the tubes I might get lucky!

You will not be able to use the vehicle for 6 weeks until you have appled to DVLA for a V5 in your name and recieved one. For this reason cars without V5 should sell for less, and if you are bidding you should not bid so high.
Reasons likely to be a lease co. with poor admin skills or a repossession.
Wig...just to clarify.....out of the 11 cars I have identified only 3 have log books!!! How much less should you offer, and why can't the car be used for 6 weeks????
Thanks!0 -
Looking for an renault megane convertible - automatic only, newer shape, don't mind which auction site its located(although I'd prefer north west), i'll travel to the opposite ends of country if needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any help would be grateful received before I drive poor hubby mad!! thanks in advance0 -
Ask before the sale if the log book has turned up, they often turn up late. How much less? I don't know, but maybe 10% - 15%. You can't use the car because you won't get a tax disc until you have the new V5. Until that time it will have to be SORN and transported back to your place of storage.
Ah..thought there was some other peculiar reason!!!
Can I borrow and use trade plates to drive said car home if no log book/tax disc?
Do the big lease companys sell their cars with in date tax discs, and or current MOT?
Do BCA permit you to leave their premises in purchased vehicle if its not taxed etc?
Also what are the approx fees payable on a £8-9K car?
Sorry for all the green horn questions!!!
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!0 -
